I'm 63 and I've been using HRT ( Prempro,) for about 7 years. I was having terrible hot flashes during the day, and carb cravings that made me gain a lot of weight. I also had terrible bleeding from fibroids. Everything has evened out now. My daytime hot flashes stopped. I had one doctor keep trying to coerce me into a hysterectomy for the fibroids, but I was told they'd go away at menopause, so I just waited. I'm not sure if it was the HRT or menopause that got rid of them, but they're gone. Thank God! I continue to take the HRT. My gynecologist insists on a yearly mammogram before she will continue to prescribe them. When my night sweats go away completely, I'll probably stop taking them.

Basically sex hurts an if you don't treat it and your spouse wants sex it hurts alot. If neither of you cares, then that is your preference or if you don't have a significant other anymore and dont intend on getting one, then don't treat it. Jmo

No one seems to understand hormones including my doctor. It's as if post menopausal women just showed up on earth. Question: I am 54. In post menopause for 4 years. Recently decided to try BHRT for night sweats and brain fog as follows: 2.5 Bi-est 80/20 (every day) and Prometrium 200 (12 days per month). My glycemic control has deteriorated from an A1C of 5.5 and fasting insulin of 8 to 5.9 A1C and fasting insulin of 20. Question: Would bi-est or progesterone trigger high cortisol or is bi-est not a strong enough estrogen to counter progesterone insulin resistance? One of the two has made me severely insulin resistant as nothing else has changed - no change to diet/exercise - in fact eating less and moving more. My estrogen and progesterone levels were not checked prior to initiating as this is no longer common practice apparently.

So wait does taking progesterone help lower cortisol or make it worse?

I had mono as a teen and about five years ago started experiencing what has been diagnosed as ME/CFS. I believe it has something to do with EBV. My EBV test shows high antibodies but not an active infection. Am I a candidate for this treatment?

Where do you get the 22% number claim? It's a made up number, impossible to prove. It's only an estimate, not factual and has no basis at all. CIRS is also not another name for mold toxicity. How could that be, if only 22% of people get sick from mold, when actually anyone can get sick? Its all junk science. Mold toxicity can affect everyone, regardless of genetics.

It's so sad, but a second opinion is necessary .I knew a doctor who didn't trust the results of a bld test and had them repeated twice and even followed the process to the lab and was found that he was correct on repeating the bld test,it's essential to know the right result in order to treat the patient.
