It’s nice to see a speedrun game that isn’t just a series of glitches/skips. With the exception of the soft reset minor time save this game is 100% about playing the core game w/ skill. There’s barely a gap between TAS & the WR.
@MR.__GАй бұрын
I always prefer glitchless runs.. and skips that require skill that will make or break your run
@BigGainer9818 күн бұрын
It goes to show how well the game is designed.
@froston418 күн бұрын
@@MR.__G i should clarify that i mean glitches/skips that have a luck factor say a trick that only works 20% of the time. That’s just a super reset heavy game.
@MR.__G18 күн бұрын
@@froston4 lol I messed my wording as well. Meant to say glitchless runs. I do enjoy seeing skips that require skill / good RNG.

Absolutely gorgeous factory, that’s a hard section even for casuals. This is my all time fave tony hawk and one that in my opinion is criminally underrated. I pray for the day a remake happens, but for now shitty frame rate and slightly uncanny people graphics it is :p. great run hope to see more and even get into it myself. Curious, other than frame rate issues being more prevalent on the ps3, is there any major version differences ?

How do you manage the balance meter so easily? I find doing some of the grinds and manuals very difficult
@ThePackle6 ай бұрын
Years of practice, honestly. Balancing in P8 is hard, especially at lower stats, so a lot of practice has come in handy to make it at least kinda doable. Some days, though, I can still mess up a lot.

This is a good video, but 15 minutes in, I notice it is silent. You definitely need to put something in the background so it's a little less monotone. But you have a good voice for this kind of thing.

Before I started this video I watched a 6:42 100% speed run of this game. I’ve always been a casual gamer, and the Tony Hawk series has always been my favorite. One of my favorite things to do as a teenager was 100% run this game, it was never at the competitive level but I’m proud of myself for how many of the strategies and shortcuts I found by myself without the internet. This is the first I’ve heard of a community around this and it’s really cool to see how many people are so passionate about my favorite game!

So, the goal is to 100% the game by not completing all of the goals? Is this some foreign definition of the term "100%" that I am unaware of?
@ThePackle7 ай бұрын
This is something I failed to mention in the video, but 100% (or what is known as All Goals & Golds in later games) does not unlock anything. You get the Officer Dick unlock for completing one character completely (all 30 tapes), but then completing all other skaters in the same manner will net you nothing. Not to mention that there is no way to track gaps in this game, and you do not get anything either for finding them all. THPS2's 100% (All Goals & Gaps on all characters + all gaps found) gets you Skate Heaven; THPS3 gives you the Neversoft Eyeball. TL;DR: "True" 100% is pointless, monotonous, and gives you nothing; 100% should be called All Goals & Golds I guess but we decided not to change it. Every community can define what it means.
@user-jx4fe1xt8q7 ай бұрын
@ThePackle So 100% means not getting everything. What people in reality refer to as <100%. Got ya.
