My answer would have to be... only exhaust that's legal is the exhaust that went through CA compliance with the car.

Running an AntiGravity battery in the trunk. its a 51R battery laid flat in the spare tire well. The battery that was in this video at the time was a Optima battery for a Prius which has the JIS style terminals.

Unfortunately, that's it.. we'll have to wait and see who else makes a comparable product.

which resonator did you have on the tomei ? a vibrant titanium one ?
@th1gtr2 жыл бұрын
On the Tomei Ti one I just went with the ultra quiet SS resonator. At the time, they did not offer any Ti resonators.. But I doubt I would have gotten it either way since I wanted the most amount of dampening possible. The Ti ones are bullet style which personally I don't think help much.
@blaqjac212 жыл бұрын
@@th1gtr thanks for the reply ! I have a tomei on my evo i like it and the weight savings but i want it a little more quiet . Dont really have any options everything is either heavy or loud , now ticon and i believe vibrant have full style resonators and mufflers not just the bullet ones . So i think im going to add full style vibrant res or ticon race muffler in the middle

I'm not entirely sure.. but I'll have to guess around 160deg since the tuner has a gradual safety (ignition cut on RPM) until I'm warmed up.. I want to say 164deg is what I recall.

I want put this r32 skyline subframe in my hardbody d21 so my truck will be AWD. is it possible for this to be done?
@th1gtr2 жыл бұрын
Sorry bud, I can't help you there. I stick to my original sentiment "I am not an expert by any means".. hahaha. But logically.. you have the front AWD subframe to start.. the rear subframe can be anything.. you just need to match the diff's ring gear to whatever the front diff is. The transmission and transfer case is going to be the tricky part... without compatibility in mind.. some auto awd tranmissions are out there.. like the AWD G35x or Pathfinders.. I recall there was a manual awd truck transmission Nissan had as well but the details escape me.

Great times! What camera/gear/software are you using? My GoPro Hero 8 always looks "washed out" on bright days
@th1gtr2 жыл бұрын
It sucks to have to operate but the only way I am able to get the audio/video the way I think is good is to run 3 GoPros.. 2 for audio (intake/turbo & exhaust) and 1 in the cockpit for driving video. The "audio cameras" are old Hero 3 camera and the one in the car is the Hero 8 Black. For the in car video you have to mount the camera and then press and hold the screen to do the A/F lock and I feel like it helps with saturation(?) (not a photo person, might be using the wrong terminology).. I also have a little polarizing lens filter thing i got from amazon. It small case mounts on and the lens is magnetic so you can rotate the lens orientation horizontal/vertical depending on the day. Since it's in car I just have it set the one way to reduce windshield glare. In terms of software, I just purchased RaceRender Ultimate. I kept using their free one for a long time but only editing 3 minutes is a PITA. I know I want the info and it's easier to load up the entire video and sync the lap times of the entire session (vs guessing and saying "was this lap 3 or was the previous" type deal). I like syncing the audio and videos in a software called Camtasia (I use for work when I need to do training videos) but I'm sure anything comparable or even Race Render is fine. The goal is just so sync all the video/audio and then I crop out the ends. Lastly the telemetry, I use to use Harry's Lap Timer for the data but since this car is all CANBUS now and everything pipes to the AIM Solo2 DL.. it was so much easier just pulling the logs and picking and choosing what data I wanted. I didn't render/post.it but I overlayed oil/water temps, oil PSI, boost, etc in another video just to look at my data live. Was interesting to see keep an eye on oil pressure in toe corners. Hope that helps!!

Great "how to" thanks. Curious as to how you identified the FOUR SEASONS 38637 Expansion Valve as the correct replacement? Nissan FAST shows the part number as 92200-F6110 which was superseded by 92200-33M00. Neither of these are listed at www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=815423&cc=1209664&pt=6788&jsn=443 as alternate OEM part numbers. Thanks Rob
@th1gtr3 жыл бұрын
Rob, I had the help from a friend of mine, Eric H., who went thru this before me. He shared that part and I was able to use the same. The part does work and my AC has no issues. Similar to the "forklift starter" its just one of those things, "if you know, you know..." and the information gets shared.. I felt that this was a much cheaper alternative (to try) and so far it seems to be worth the efforts.. Sorry this isn't a technical explanation but knowing this part works gives you an avenue to search other parts that are listed as alternate P/Ns. And just wanted to add.. the part you listed for the superseded P/N is $60+ and we know damn well Nissan isn't out there making their own expansion valves.. the part I shared was $16. I doubt "OEM expansion" vs aftermarket will yield noticeable differences.

Hey quick question where does the sensor that is under the stick stuff go? Mine is bad and I’m trying to avoid removing the evaporator.
@th1gtr3 жыл бұрын
There is no way you're going to be able to put the sensor on without taking the evap out. The sensor looks like 1.5" rod. It lays flat making complete contact to the low pressure line UNDER the butyl tape (the sticky stuff). If it is not under all of that, it's not done right and should probably come out. And to be clear, you might be able remove the butyl tape and apply it without removing but it just doesn't make sense to go through all of that trouble.

It's included in their video package. they mount a GoPro and save your session. However, it took a few weeks to get the video uploaded since they were back logged. DO NOT SPIN OUT or they will NOT release video. Due to insurance/liability issues.

Great lap mate, is the Laguna Seca open to public driving or track days ? Cheers from the Nürburgring
@th1gtr5 жыл бұрын
It's a bit complicated but the short answer is YES. It's open through various track day groups which have reserved and pay for the track. You register with them and get in a run group. 20 minutes sessions. Unfortunately, theres "noise control" so you have to lift throttle going up hill on turn 5. But it's so close to come it's nice to race and come home the same day.
@AlexRingDriver5 жыл бұрын
@@th1gtr right mate I see what you mean, I do the same at the Ring but here we have tourist rides. It's a bit more practical and less expensive, but sometimes it's hard so plan something as it's not as well managed as track days lol

Was the truck limited at all? Or could you go as fast as you wanted?
@th1gtr5 жыл бұрын
It's not super powerful. I think full speed we could probably hit 55mph? Honestly though, it's a tight track and that's more than enough speed. As you gain more experience you'll corner quicker and brake later. It sounded slow but once we got driving I forgot how "slow" it was. The jumps feel a lot more intense than they look on video.
@Farrell02083 жыл бұрын
@@th1gtr same with the Supercars. Track is smaller than it looks sitting sideline. You get up to maybe 120 mph on the straight before you have to brake for the turns. My hats are off to pro race car drivers. There’s a lot more involved than you think there is. Still had a blast!!

It would have been nice to have an RB but why not an SR? I had an SR laying around and I had a Z that needed an engine. I make nice power and put down decent numbers on the dyno. Still faster than the RB's around here and I have near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The exact cross weight is 50.7//49.3. But in the imperfect world we play the hand that we're dealt. And I was dealt a 400+rwhp SR20. =)
