This video lost all credibility with me when the implied the National Guard under Governor Ronald Reagan caused the death at the People Park protest in Berkeley when in fact the National Guard were called in after the death of an innocent protester.

On May 16, more than 2,000 Army National Guard troops entered and occupied Berkeley. A strict curfew and ban on assembly were declared. Bayonets, barbed wire and military vehicles were the new normal. On May 20, a National Guard helicopter tear-gassed Sproul Plaza. The CS gas drifted north as far as Oxford School and south as far as Emerson School. It filled university classrooms, libraries and Cowell Hospital. Thousands were affected. On May 22, law enforcement boxed in and arrested almost 500 people on Shattuck Avenue. Some were protesters. Many were not, they were just caught up in Operation Box. Those arrested were taken to the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. Guards physically abused prisoners to an extent that led to a federal injunction, federal indictments and internal Sheriff’s Department discipline. The loosely knit leadership of the People’s Park movement then announced plans for a Memorial Day march to be held on Friday, May 30. Bill Miller, a Telegraph Avenue merchant and leader of the Provo Party, secured a permit for the march

@Red-rummy Your reply is as inaccurate as the story line in the video. I don't know what alternative history you got your information from, but your source is unreliable. The situation was far from peaceful and riots by their nature are not peaceful. And the national guard did not create the riot like reply implied. The Nation guard did not create riot and they did not create the situation where a person was killed. A bit of advice keep the alternative history out of your videos. I enjoyed the Woke Series because you told a nice neat little story and I enjoyed it and that is the reason I started watching this abomination California Dreaming. I have no desire to watch California Dreaming now because I don't want to be progandized.

@@Red-rummy I noticed you deleted your last response. You outline a skewed history of the events but that fine I didn't expect you to address the actual allegations in the video. Where in your narrative does it say Reagan and the National Guard killed a civilian? It doesn't and that is because the National Guard did not kill anyone. As I stated before the Woke Series was good. Fix this video and stop trying to make excuses for the riots. The abomination you created with California Dreaming is pure alternate history that implies that Reagan and the Nation Guard are responsible for the riot that killed an innocent person. There was a permit for the march, the march initially was peaceful, but it quickly escalated into a riot. Whether you like it or not the riot did not start because of the National Guard. It is unfortunate that your response attempts paint those arrested for rioting as saints, which is also a fiction. Stop the alternate history and tell the story.

The remark that got deleted was the one google auto deleted. Which had a certain word so i had to repost. But the information i provided came straight from Berkley web site. Look it up. And you are correct it was the police. It was a real event spun into a fantasy. It was still part of the executive branch. Are you claiming none of these events happened? I mentioned a lot of other things but you focus on who was the one that kicked it off? Have any concerns about the other things i brought up? And thanks for the compliment on the woke series.

First off - excellent opening narration. On point, well worder, flowed, gave info without being blatant exposition, painted with emotion as if it was spoken by a character who deeply believed the words. Secondly, why was it narration? This would have been best as a character monologue, it would pull double duty as exposition and characterization att he same time, which is what all good writing should strive to do. Thirdly, why is the protagonist suddenly determined to make the source bleed? The motivation feels rushed and without essence. He's just declared a desire for violence with seemingly no reason other than a general disdain for propaganda. That's flimsy, especially since everyone else accepts it. Without a concrete example of the propaganda directly causing harm to the protagonist or his loved ones, this reads like a jackass wanting to do bad things just to "watch it all burn". Plus, a protagonist with amnesia, but with a name? Getting annoying. Maybe give him an ID to fish out of his pockets? Isn't that what anyone would do if they suddenly came to without memories? The protagonist lacks emotional resonance and basic believability.

@ lol. No i am a real dude. And yes. If you are not using AI these days you will be passed over. I wrote the story. Down to every major moment event. But. I did take my story and told AI to fix my Alabama educated grammar and spelling. But i am not a writer i do have a very detailed story i am trying to get out of my head. And you brought up things that could improve and i have two more chapters written out. Along with 4 other storys cooking in my head.

Referring to the main character by his name, despite him having no memory is...a choice. But then maintaining the claim the main character having amnesia and telling the audience the character's backstory...yeah, that's a fail. Don't leave the protagonist's point of view. Don't let the audience have information the protagonist doesn't have. If you open a story with the proragonist having amnesia, you're creating the expectation of the character's identity and backstory being a mystery and that a big chunk of the plot will be discovirng those. They you just tell them to the audience... 🤦‍♂️ We're off to a bad start.
