I have trouble doing it without scooping down and then up. When I tried my best to do it without scooping it wouldn’t go all the way around. I do colorguard at school and guess I’ve been scooping since last season and it’s been going at an angle(it’s like my 45s are flats and flats are 45s)
@SpintronixGuardКүн бұрын
Try placing a trash can in front of you when you do it. If you scoop down, you will hit the trash can. Then you can start working on figuring out how to channel the power in the correct pathway.

We call these red devils!
@SpintronixGuard11 күн бұрын
This makes sense, they are backwards from the ones we call windmills, which are also referred to as blue devils (since they were taught on video tape by the Blue Devils in the 1980’s!). Fun fact, Peggy Twiggs, the woman who invented Peggy Spins, also invented these! Along with LOTS more of our modern day flag and rifle basics!

How did you get your dance certificate?
@SpintronixGuardАй бұрын
There were a couple of different routes I started on, but ultimately I ended up transferring my teaching certificate in biology and chemistry to Texas, since they offer an exam for dance teacher certification. Once I was a certified teacher in Texas I was able to register and take the dance exam down there and then transfer the certification back to my own state. Which, my state offers the certification but the only route they offer is via a degree program at a university where I would have been required to take in-person dance courses four hours away from home. The degree program certification is fine for some students who are young and looking to become dance teachers as a career, but I’m old and already have two master’s degrees in different subjects and a HUGE knowledge of dance from studying it for years in multiple capacities that were sometimes in the academic setting and sometimes not. The transfer and test route was very expensive and it took a while to get done, but ultimately ended up working out best for me in my situation. And I passed that dance exam with flying colors because that’s what happens when you’ve been doing something pretty much your whole life! Haha!

hi! i know this was made several years ago, and the last time you replied to someone was several months ago, but if you see this, i would appreciate your help! i tried to do the seam trick, but i keep doing something (i’m not quite sure what it is yet) which makes the seam go to the side. when i notice, i have to rotate the pole with one of my hands to go back to the seam while spinning. it works for me for a little bit, and i definitely made progress at not rolling up the flag. however, after a few seconds, my arms get tired of doing so much and the flag roles up again. it also takes so much concentration for me to only be able to spin it for a few seconds. is this because i haven’t spent enough time doing this trick? do you know some situations that would make me accidentally rotate the pole while doing drop spins?
@SpintronixGuard2 ай бұрын
Hi there! We respond to comments on videos every single day, no matter how old they are :) So long as KZbin send a notification, someone will respond! It sounds like your wrists are automatically turning the pole in order to roll it up as you spin. You might be reaching too far to the front of the pole with one hand each time you transfer the flag from one hand to the other, but it’s difficult to be sure exactly what’s going on without actually seeing you do it. Try spinning up against a wall and see if your knuckles are staying flat to the wall or if there’s a change in which part of your hand is touching the wall.
