Hey! I know I've pretty much commented on your videos religiously, but you're just simply amazing and I can't help but tell you that. Lol. So...I do have a request and I know you've done a video on this already, but I REALLY need some assistance...I need a thorough video of the 45 toss and different variations of that toss. I am trying to teach the basic one to my girls and I'm just having a hard time trying to get them to be able to execute the toss. I do believe they are releasing it way too early and some are doing it too late, like... They release it at point 1 (in the 27 points box) so they are angling it forward too much and are scared to release it where they are supposed to. Also, I have most of them having to lean their bodies forward to be able to catch it and they try catching before their flag does the full rotation (if that makes sense?) if I had a video, I'd show you, I'd almost be embarrassed to show it to you though, it makes me look like an awful coach...maybe I am awful....but I'm all they've got... unfortunately. 😞

@SpintronixGuard20 күн бұрын
@@MorayPorcher I tried to clear this up in the description, I got a rifle wrap from McCormick’s and put it on an Elite 3 rifle. They also sent an x-factor rifle separately. So yes, there are two rifles in this video.

It was a pretty cool effect! They wore the silks on their bodies to start the show, then picked up poles and spun those, then added the silk onto the poles in whatever way they wanted.
@DrPepper1372026 күн бұрын
Thats so fun! I love doing pole work! And that adds so much and you could quickly change silks during the show 😮
@SpintronixGuard25 күн бұрын
It definitely turned out cool! We had a fight scene with just the poles first, and everyone wore the silks tucked in on their bodies somewhere, then added the silks to the poles.

I need help adding more body to the flag movements, I keep getting my flag stuck and I just can't seem to figure out my movements. I know dance very well and I am pretty decent with my flag, but I never feel like a very good coach whenever my girls ask me to do something and I screw it up worse than they do. I am supposed to be someone they look up to for instruction and I feel like I'm constantly failing them. 😞
@SpintronixGuardАй бұрын
You are a great coach and it’s understandable to have your own struggles! It can make it even harder to teach what we can’t always do ourselves, but we learn from our mistakes too. 😊 My advice is to push yourself to constantly improve and let your students see that you are pushing yourself. That will set and example and a precedent for them to constantly push themselves. The goal here is not to get them to be as good as you, but for them to exceed your skills and continue to grow the activity!

What is the electrical tape used for?
@SpintronixGuardАй бұрын
Several things! It can keep the bolts from rattling or flying out of the pole, hold the silk on the pole, hold the rubber tips on the ends, indicate where performers should place their hands, or just coordinate colors with the flag.
@Riri-79Ай бұрын
Question, when you catch should the flag be on the left or right side of your body? From what i see in the video i think left, but cameras are weird so im not totally sure lol. I think i might just need to put more power in yhe throw but it always lands to the right of me.
@SpintronixGuardАй бұрын
@@Riri-79 it should be the opposite side of where you toss it from. In this video I’m starting on the right, so it lands left. If I started from the left it should land on the right. There are other factors like direction of rotation that might change this, but for the basic technique it’s just landing on the opposite side from where it begins.

Not to be all out there... But I seriously freaking adore you! Lol. Like... You are hands down my favorite color guard person to watch whenever I need a quick reminder how to do certain motions or tosses. I was in color guard for a long time when I was younger, now I'm a mom of a 13 year old son in marching band and I became the assistant band director and color guard coach after I helped multiple children with their instruments and taught a few of the color guard girls their helicopter tosses while my son was on the practice field with the band. The band director approached me immediately and said "we NEED you! Please consider the job, it's a paid position." And after that, I've had so much fun teaching the girls and actually re-learning everything with them. It has truly been a wonderful and memorable experience for my son and for myself. But if I realize I completely forgot how to do something, I go straight to your videos on KZbin. So I figured I'd let you know that you are simply "MY COLOR GUARD WONDER WOMAN!" and again, I adore you. 😂❤

I definitely hope you are able to keep doing what you love, because you are great at it. I have 5 kids, so I understand what you're going through. My youngest is 10 months, so it gets tough when I'm trying to choreograph routines for our halftime shows, but it's getting easier as the baby is getting older and she LOVES watching mommy spin a flag and dance. She gets so excited! I'm sure that your little one will eventually be thrilled to watch you as well. ❤️

@SpintronixGuard3 ай бұрын
Airblades definitely aren’t a waste of money if you are looking to deepen your weapon training skills. Their weight and balance is different from a rifle though, so if you are considering auditioning for a team that uses rifles and not Airblades then you should get a rifle that matches your team’s.
