Thanks for this video! I heard from another video's comment section that this was possible to do without removing the wheel, but ive been halted due to the hidden clip for the sensor box. So, ive just ordered a pick set and will try to hit from the right side as the front approach wasnt working for me with an allen key.

Damn there's no pre-existing hall effect type signal coming off the bike in stock form? I imagine there's something for spark timing from the factory.
@ckrummy13
@ckrummy13 5 ай бұрын
So there is no Hall effect, but the factory uses VR sensors for ignition timing. It can be made to work but it would take custom programming to make it work because of the odd configuration. In the end I think this was a better option.

For anyone watching this just bite the bullet and buy new sills. It’s gonna take you a good week to get it all done right but trust me it’s the only way to sort this out the right way, I spent a good few years stressing about rust and doing minor patchwork on my sills until there was nothing left to weld. Cut out further than you need weld in new sills and fill sills with zinc primer and cavity wax and you’re sorted for another 10-15 years if done right also whilst your at it remove the arch liners and inspect for rust and remove the foam in the wings 👍🏻

At 10:46 you mention you will get a vibration due to drive shaft orientation to slip yoke. My question is, why? I replaced the joints on both ends and now it has a vibration. It looks like this is the issue because I marked the shaft and yoke but it erased, so I just put it back on however. Greased up and flexible, but a vibration nonetheless. Why does orientation matter?
@ckrummy13
@ckrummy13 9 ай бұрын
Orientation matters because the driveshaft is balanced in that particular orientation. I would double check and make sure your caps are all the way on and there is not side to side movement in the joint. That can cause a problem too.
@1kbutta
@1kbutta 2 ай бұрын
It don’t. If that was the case the driveshaft and yoke would always have to be replaced together bc they’d be balanced together

When looked up, they list completely different measurements from end to end and groove to groove circumference or however. I'm having to change them every 100 miles. But the jackass I got to change them i watched him and never saw him mark for the orientation. I wonder if maybe they a were installed out of sync if this ain't why they keep failing. Generally you’ll want a little more wire speed to prevent burn through. And if you have the option run reverse polarity, it puts a lot less heat into the part.
