Does it require you to wrap line around a spool that comes apart? I'm trying to find the model that has no bump button on the bottom or spool. You just cut a piece of line, then stick the line in a hole on one side of the head, then push it through the inside of the head, and it comes out the other side. When the line wears down shorter, you replace the line with a new piece that you cut to the right length, without having to load up a spool or bump anything. It may be a model they don't make anymore.

Supposed to be air tight if you have a bad seal you could possibly get water inside causing CEL possibly corrosion from where water shouldn't be getting in to

You don't want that much moisture in there and risk getting water inside. They always say it in the owners's manual too, but I know people like you always know better so you will think that's stupid. Just because it's working now dorsn't mean no damage was done, moisture and leaks can take a while to show likewise, it's the repeated act of doing it which will accumulate damage. There is an obsession with using pressure every single second, for a hidden area like this, wouldn't it make sense to focus more on contact use of a detailing brush for ingrained dirt, and using non pressurised jet, you would get almost (if not the same) result and no one ever has said, I want the inside of my bloody gas cap to be completely mint.

I worked at a Ford dealership in the 80s the detail guy would clean the engine like you did, then he’d spray this stuff called “ engine clear” made every shiny like the rubber stuff . Was a temporary thing so it’d look good for selling.

Just take a look at the battery for starters. He sprays a PLUGGED IN battery with water and then soap and rinsed that battery off with more water. Plus water gets down into places it shouldnt ever get to and ruins the car. Kids there is a reason cars have hoods and have seals around the hood to protect from rain...... Ive got a 98 4 door LS, and love that little truck, it handles decent, not perfect, but is good in ice and snow, okay around curves, i like all the bells and whistles, but the damn electrical problems it has sometimes... Assuming that is what you are experiencing, makes me feel like my truck is possessed. So i do understand lmao.
