I agree he is very very good. But i also agree with the judges and the results. American idol is looking for a commercial recording artist. Which Clay is not yes hes made for stage and people like Simon knows what hes talking about as he predicted Clay's success in Broadway and musical. Clay was in the wrong competition. Winners of American idol Kelly , Reuben , Fantasia, Carrie all went far as recording artist.

I think for this season they got it right. Like simon said in American idol they are looking for a recording artist to sell. I listen to Clay on recording i think its not as good as he sings on stage. Broadway is definitely his direction.

I have been a fan of Clay Aiken since American Idol 2nd season. I love his voice and his style.

Poor Clay. This performance wasn’t good. He is all stuffy sounding. That just has to be hard for singers. He did this song really well on GMA. It has some notes in there that seem hard to land, but I do love this song. He changed it when he was touring, so it worked better for him. I still watch the GMA one from time to time,

This was such a fun season. Ruben automatically reminded me of Luther Vandross with that silky smooth voice. Clay, well, he just melted my heart with that voice and charm. I loved this performance during the Finale.

Ironically, now everyone in the world prefers Simon with our eyes closed. No one wants to see his botched botoxed melting freak show of a face. Bitterness really doesn’t age well.
