The Touch7 Neon Color System, the video you have commented on, is compatible with both analogue and digital, ink, or toner. It doesn't matter, so long as you have neon inks and CMYK. Color-Logic is a system for metallics and foils and is also compatible with both analogue and digital devices, ink or toner, it doesn't matter so long as you can print either silver ink/toner or white ink/toner.

What material? That is a VR proof! It is simulating of printing on foil material. It has not been printed. Color-Logic is a software company that produces a metallic color system, we are not substrate manufacturers, we don't make machines, we don't resell papers/machines. If you were to print it, you should contact the press manufacturer of the machine you use, they should be able to recommend a material for your specific printing press.

However, what we can advise is that if you are wanting to to produce cosmetic labels, you first need to decide if those labels will have any 5th color embellishments on them, for example, silver, gold, white ink (so you can print over foil labels), clear toner, neon pink, neon yellow etc, or are you only ever going to print in CMYK?. If you are going to want to print speciality colors, then you should look for a device that offers all those capabilities. The Ricoh 9500 for example, is a CMYK print engine for high volume CMYK printing, it has not extra colors ... but the Ricoh Pro C7500 has all those extra color options and is more adapted to shorter runs. The Fujifilm Revoria has clear, white, silver, gold, pink. The Ricoh and Fujifilm are commercial cut sheet machines. They were not designed for labels, but you can put label material through them. The only press you mentioned that is actually created for printing labels, is the Konica, but that's only a CMYK machine. If you want to do any metallics etc, then it's not possible with that machine. Ultimately, you need to decide what you are printing, then weigh that up against what you're willing to spend. You could also look at the Epson SurePress L-6534VW, Xeikon CX500 or an HP Indigo 6900 and HP Indigo 7900 series. All of them are excellent machines and designed for label applications.

Color-Logic is compatible with both Silver ink/toner and White ink/toner based printing devices. You can print metallic silver ink on a conventional litho press (we sell a special silver that is better than a normal silver ink) ... But, and this is VERY important, metallic inks, including ours, DO NOT look like foil. There is a very big difference in metallic ink and foil papers. If you want foil effects, you must have a UV press or a device capable of printing on foil papers and then you would print with a white ink to block out areas on the metallic papers.

MFX was bought by Ciba Speciality Chemicals in 2007 and was later closed down in 2008 when Ciba was purchased by BASF, so I doubt you are using MetalFX Silver as it stopped being manufactured in 2009. Also, the MFX license stated that it was against the licensing terms to use any other alternative metallic ink. Sorry, but we cannot assist MFX customers due to licensing infringement possibilities. Color-Logic is not MetalFX, we are not the same company, we specialise in white ink color separation for digital print engines, but we can also do what Metal-FX did.

Hello - You cannot make metallic ink from CMYK! Metallic ink is an ink formulated using aluminium particle - that is where you get the metallic effect. You don't mix it with CMYK inks, it is designed to be printed underneath the CMYK inks! This video was created 7 years ago, we don't recall what the substrate was, but you get the same results from most foil substrates, you don't need a special paper, just one that will go through the press. The effects that you see are created using our color system, it's just the metallic paper that makes the metallic effect, but those patterns etc, that's created using our palettes. Papers similar to the above video would be from companies like, Ecofoil, Kernow, Polyart etc, but as stated, so long as the foil paper is certified for that specific device, it doesn't really matter. There are also different types of foil papers, some are high chrome, some are matt metallic, some are holographic, some are pearlescent, some are rainbow foil... each gives a different result. hope that helps.

If you are having slow ripping times it will be due to the complexity of the file you are attempting to output or the RIP you are using. If you send a file to us we can look and see what you are trying to do to see if it is the file, but in 14 years of being in business we have never had a customer complain about ripping times. Hello Bruno. Yes, Color-Logic can be used on anything from a business card to a large format poster, from packaging to labels. With regards to this particular video, this was printed on a Ricoh Pro C7200 using White + CMYK and printed on Ecofoil Digital (silver foil substrate, high chrome look) and has excellent printing qualities and recyclability. The Ricoh Pro C7200, as well as other digital engines, like Xerox Iridesse and Fujifilm's Revoria Press PC1120 are excellent devices for short run applications and, perfect for flyers - However, please bare in mind that the Ecofoil digital substrate is currently only available in a few grades, 260gsm and 300gsm, so maybe a bit thick for flyers, but there are other metallic substrates that are available, for example, Polyart has a substrate called "Ultrametal Silver" and comes in a 125GSM weight, which might be more suited to a flyer, but, this substrate is more like a matt silver rather than a high chrome foil, very nice substrate though and one that we have personally used in the past on our own literature. THere's also Slater Harrison, they have a silver paper, more like a silver ink, which comes in 136gsm and 316gsm. You make a design using our palettes and plugins inside Adobe Illustrator, Indesign or Photoshop, view your designs in metallic on your monitor using our FX-Viewer software and then when you are ready, you send that file to the press. Provided that your Indigo has either silver ink or white ink, then there is no additional cost on the press. The only cost would be the purchasing of our color system. You will need to contact HP Indigo for assistance or try Google - search for "HP Indigo SmartStream Designer" and you will see links for that product, however, you would need to be an HP Indigo customer (with one of their presses) for that software to work for you, it's not a generic program.
