might be one of the few people who prefers the US version. Mostly because it's in my native language but also because of the the (subtle) exaggeration of the characters. The Father is more pathetic and useless in the US version, the mother is stronger, the son is more convincingly terrified / traumatized and the killers have a better chemistry IMO. I find it so fascinating and almost too enjoyable watching the chemistry between Peter and Paul in the US version whereas in the Austrian version it's a little dryer and more realistic. Also, Haneke's direction and the camerawork of the US version are just slightly improved and more methodical. They're both great films, masterful performances and brilliant filmmaking. However, with the US version I just simply prefer the direction, the characters and the cinematography which is just gorgeous to look at, couldn't look away from the screen. The most notable difference between characters is probably the portrayal of Peter. I think the original version Paul is a lot more controlling and powerful as the leader and Peter is less intimidating.

Nancy probably went to therapy there, pulled it together but not in a completely normal way, she was let to see other patients in talk circles and met someone at the mental hospitel. I really wonder who is lilly’s father
