I’m told that in Britain you can’t use this tune because everyone will sing, “On Ilkley Moor bar t’hat!”

Beautifully played. I am playing the Ukrainian anthem after each service in which I am the organist and will continue this until the war is over and Russia is back within its pre-2014 borders.

I often wonder as a musician myself, if playing organs is a dying art. Goodness knows how much work must go into mastering these complicated instruments. Beautifully played and will I am sure be appreciated by Ukrainians. Music is the ambassador that speaks all languages. Please consider watching my effort on guitar for the Red Cross in Ukraine. If you notice Hull Royal Infirmary at the beginning, it's about 12-14 floors tall, but in places like Ipswich, Portsmouth, Southampton, Cardiff, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Plymouth, Norwich etc, the city centres have buildings 25/30/35/40 and 50 plus storeys that can be seen for miles around, and those cities are roughly the same size as Hull and are all coastal cities too. London has hundreds of new buildings that are 15/30/40/50/60/80+ floors and it is a shame that there isn't any really tall landmark buildings in Hull city centre that can be seen all over the city (there has been many plans to build various hotels, offices and apartments but they either never get built or are between 5-10 floors, maybe 12-15 maximum). Hull would look great from the River Humber or arriving along Beverley Road or Hedon Road or Clive Sullivan Way if there was a handful of 15-20-25-30 storey buildings, as landmarks in the centre of the city.

As an English organist who has lived in Ukraine for the last 24 years (I am organist at St Katherine's Lutheran Church, Dnipro), , I would like to add my appreciation to this. In particular, I would like to transcribe it. I play a lot of recitals and it would be a good encore piece.

I want to thank you for this beautiful arrangement of Ukrainian National Anthem. I too am an organist and have performed this magnificent anthem in its standard form but your arrangement is exquisite. Ukraine is very near to my heart both as a nation and personally. Слава України.

'Long Since in Egypt's Plenteous Land' seems far to fast... but looking at Novello's original octavo score your tempo is *exactly* as written "allegro semplice -- about 112". To *my* ear, however, it sounds better at a slow andante (80-84) as heard elsewhere on YT (it should appear on the sidebar here as 'Hubert Parry: 'Long Since in Egypt's Plenteous Land').

That particular harpsichord has been sold off as it had problems with the sound board. One in good condition would probably be around a thousand dollars / high hundreds of pounds.
