The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice is my "absolute" favorite raison d'être album. The perfect combination of his sacral and post industrial dirge sounds
@santasangremagazine94632 ай бұрын
It's a masterpiece indeed. And for me the last outstanding album ever released by CMI (even though there were some good or very good albums released after, like New Risen Throne or IRM)

good compilation, a lot of the big names are in it. puissance definitely took the shock value thingy too far to the point of sounding silly, even though I mostly miss them for their orquestral pieces I must be honest I also miss some of that "edge" they had.
@santasangremagazine94632 ай бұрын
Yes, it was silly but on some level it corresponded with my youth worldview, also quite dumb when I think of it now, from the perspective of time. Puissance when it comes to martial/orchestral/neoclassical music was 90s to the core and yes, somehow I miss that too.

Hey, sorry to shamelessly plug myself like this but I was wandering if you would be interested in listening to one of my tracks as I would really appreciate some feedback if you have the time. I'm not signed to anything, I'm just a nobody who likes experimenting with electronic music but given that this genre is so niché I can never find any like-minded people who will listen to my work. The link is my favorite piece I've made specifically for earphones. Again sorry to approach you like this and I fully understand if you're too busy at this time. Thanks regardless ✌️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/l33JnadnlKyDqNUsi=6pgn-AJDDJvNZO8K

Thanks a million for the videos which I discovered from researching Zoharum. I dig daily for new underground music from Bandcamp and KZbin. I would probably enjoy the magazine. Basically, I am a hobby musician, 58 from San Francisco but live near Freiburg Germany. I am a huge fan of death, doom, black metal and noise, krautrock, and I discovered Boris Flood 1 2 3 4. I read about projects these musicians collaborate on with other musicians and I can't stop digging deeper. I subscribed and bought the NIMH digital plus CD before and after silence. I have no idea where the CD is being sent and normally I stream most music ( I buy the digital format via Bandcamp) I look forward to watching more videos. Mike

Loki Foundation (deep-audio.de) albo Winter Light (winter-light.nl). Albo bezpośrednio u muzyków na ich Bandcampach.

Thanks for the new video. And also thanks for your 'Top 50 Dark Ambient' series: The introduction to the music of Thomas Koner - previously entirely unknown to me - was particularly appreciated; and I have subsequently snagged a copy of the Tiemo/Permafrost double-cd, as well as Aubrite and Daikan in addition to that. All great stuff; immensely expansive and immersive, and exactly my taste. Much appreciation! Yours mostly kindly, Rom.

I've been listening to Desiderii Marginis Deadbeat thanks to this video and I totally love it. So good! Almost reminds me of some Atrium Carceri stuff but with Deadbeat, the mind is allowed to wander more. Obviously the two projects are very different but there is something almost cinematic about both of them. Very easy to listen to. Thanks for sharing

It amazes me how some people can be so passionate about music that has so little passion! I have been listening to electronic music since I was a teenage in 1971. I had most of the albums of Tangerine Dream, Klaus Shultz, Jean-Michel Jarre, but also the recordings of the early pioneers - Morton Subotnik, Terry Riley, Stockhausen, - and I see a corollary between this modern "Ambient" music, and the fragmentation of the Human mind through Social Media , and Digital Technology. As we become less Human, and more hybrid (Ghost - Machine) the music today reflects this. Personally, I find the music you're featuring to be bloodless...soulless. If it places me in any space - it would be a place of isolation, and industrialization...the very opposite of what I listened to last night - Brian Eno / Ambient 4: ON LAND. That music had a presence, and also a haunted spacial density that is so lacking in this music. To each their own, Right? Now...I will go away, and cleanse my sonic palate with Tangerine Dream's ZEIT, and Phaedra! - but I have to say, you almost won me over with the CAT! Adorable!

I know what you mean, you're right on it... also i sense there is some type of difference (purpose?) in dark ambient specificly as a subtype (?) related to ambient music
@santasangremagazine94636 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I respect it even though I don't agree. Each person has a different personality and sensibility, and I don't see anything wrong or strange if someone looks for emotions, calming down or even some kind of a shelter in this bloodless or soulless music as you name it. You can find this modern ambient music this way, me, and other likeminded people... on the contrary. It's a matter of taste, our sensibility and how we perceive music and the feelings behind it. There's a soul and heart in dark ambient, perhaps not always offered in a straightforward way, but there is, believe me. To be clear, I'm very fond of the artists you mentioned, Eno, Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre, they were all very important artists when my, let's say, musical taste was shaping. And I still listen to their albums every now and then. But I must say that in dark and deep ambient I have found this special place that corresponds with my emotions. I got to know many musicians from that scene over the years and they're not cyborgs, really, but people with big heart and creative talent :) But to each his own, as you say and I can relate to that. And thanks for your nice words about the cat. I'm happy that at least he saved the video for you :)
@Veluvian6 ай бұрын
Quite a sonic journey! Dark ambient is like a family: personalities from all over the world that may not know each other, but they all know the common source of expression. It's never a competition, but an experience and honesty in what each artist brings something from inside to outside.
