God bless how he holds the refrain. I miss this...

Fun Fact: composed by Shotts & Dykehead's Pipe Major, commemorating that band's switch from Warmac chanters to another brand. "Camraw" isn't a locale... just spell it backwards. 😅

No Electric Guitar?

Liked, but not to my taste really much needed. OTOH, I've thought for many years that pipe tunes' rather harsh tonalities would sound very well wrung through an electric guitar.

Many are the laments for the pipes. A timbre well suited to both sorrow and war.

I just heard this played at the 40th anniversary memorial for Police Sgt. Donald J. Sowma, killed in the line of duty on November 19th, 1976 in Cypress, California. The tune seemed familiar, and I asked the piper, retired LAPD Officer Cliff Armas, the name of the tune. He said simply "The Bells of Dunblane", and I was suddenly transported back twenty years to the news of the horrifying tragedy at Dunblane School in Stirling, Scotland, and tears sprang to my eyes. I'd nearly forgetten Dunblane School. This tune is all the more beautiful as a remembrance of the promise and potential lost that day.

I'm glad people brought their children to this. I remember the night Ofcr Pardon lost his life, and Im thankful for everyone that took time out of their day to honor the procession; that support alone was enough to bring tears to my eyes.
