Mobius didn't fear Raziel specifically... in this specific situation, he was afraid of the time distortion, which would allow true changes to history to occur. Ergo, Raziel could actually have killed Mobius here, instead of Kain.

How can raziel be alive as a wraith if he kills his sarafan self? Without sarafan raziel there wouldn't be a vampire one

Sarafan Raziel was always destined to die this way. When Kain resurrects him and his brethren as vampires, they lose all memories of their former humanity, so Raziel doesn't remember that he basicall killed himself, which prevents a time paradox.

@@ninjaDu59 When the physcial blade turns against Wraith Raziel (Who is the Raziel of the Future), that is where his soul is supposed to fuse with it. This same blade, infused with Raziel's soul, is supposed to be the one that Kain carries in Soul Reaver 1. But by pulling the sword out of Raziel again, Kain stops that from happening and thus creates a timeline where the physical blade is never infused with Raziel's soul. In other words: a time paradox. The soul of Sarafan Raziel (Who is the Raziel of the past) never leaves his body, and he is resurrected as a vampire by Kaine later.

Exactly. The Reaver at that point devours blood like a Vampire which is fitting given it was forged by a Vampire. The slaughter Raziel went on makes it so hungry for more blood that it turns on him and starts trapping him into the very blade. He devours souls to replenish himself both in and out of the Spectral Realm. So Raziel being trapped in the Reaver turns it into the Soul Reaver it’s known throughout the land for. Time travel is basically a circle/river in the Legacy of Kain series given how Raziel was always meant to slaughter his brothers and himself and be trapped within the Reaver for many, MANY years.
