Pretty amazing! We just don't get enough days like that in PNW. But when we get 'em, oh man.... Curious if this was somewhere over by the employee housing run, or if it was coming down on the east side of the lot? Hard to make out.

I like skiing in the burned trees, they are a lot different than most of the forests in the PNW

Was this the same day as the avalanche death? How did you guys assess?

No, that avalanche happened on the Saturday before and this was a Tuesday 3 days after. We followed the avy report and were looking mostly for wind slab, which we didn't find any. We assessed the conditions as we went and didn't find any signs of instability. That was definitely on our minds though since it was nearby and recent.

At the Crystal ski area. Be sure to check their website to read over the new rules for paid parking and carpool as much as possible.

She will be happy to hear it! Sadly, like many PNW tele skiers, she gave it up and switched to AT a few years back. Are you the guidebook author? I still have a copy of 100 classic backcountry ski and snowboard routes in WA.
