Is the 1860/h9 the same as 1860/732eh do you know. I have just got the belt on the drum but it is tighter than yours. They sent me the latter in a sealed bag with the first on the label. Cheers mate

If plastic dishes and utensils, yes they could be washed but obviously not glass or silver. Otherwise just soak in the sink with hot water then scrub off.

Brilliant video - I had exactly the problem described (I had become convinced that I'd been supplied with the wrong / incompatible replacement belt). This wasn't the case, and by following the guidance in this video, I was able to attach the belt to the motor spindle. It's not easy, and takes a bit of effort, but eventually managed to get it done. Great video / great advice - thank you.

Just bought one and we are so pleased with it. Had to change doors round. The instructions aren’t the best to follow, but we worked it out in the end and they now open the way we wanted them to. We needed a slimline model for the space we had and so pleased that we found this one. Plastic covering was so annoying to remove but got there in the end. Also I would have liked a 3rd shelf in the door as there is a large space. I’m going to enquire as to whether we can buy another one. If not, it’s not the end of the world.. Great video as it’s very truthful 😊

What is the maximum weight you would recommend to load onto a 10 km machine?
@Tom-sg4iv18 күн бұрын
The weight advertised is dry cotton. All other programs has much lower limits. Check the user manual

Why did you smash the glass when you just could’ve had the door open?
@MichaelBosworth-y9rАй бұрын
The washing machine probably wouldn't let it spin without it closed so they smashed it

Thanks for the tutorial, got through everything. The problem I have is that the motor has sucked parts of the belt and is now hesitant to work and gives a slight melted belt scent. Can I open up the motor cover to clean it?
@ashfordtownappliances3 ай бұрын
No I would out motor I’d get some long nose pliers and pull the parts of the belt out a bit at a time…. Annoying job but worth it

@ashfordtownappliances3 ай бұрын
Sounds like the motor is seized or if the belt has snapped then some of the rubber from the belt may of wrapped itself round the motors thread… good luck

@ashfordtownappliances Thanks, turns out it was a different model than this one and I had to stretch the belt over the pulley. It was a pain!

Do some come with blue bung that’s not so easily missed?
@ashfordtownappliances5 ай бұрын
Yes, that’s very true. The connection under the sink can sometimes have a blue bun/plug in it and if that stays in there, the water will not flow out so definitely take that out before you plug in the waste pipe👍

Not all washing machines need to go to waste unlike this Hotpoint. Very few brands still make washers with a splittable tub which means that it is held together with screws and removing those gives us access to the bearings and spider making their replacement easier.
@DoctorVision6 ай бұрын
Hotpoint machines are notorious for this, failing after 3-4 years, as are many brands these days I suspect. It's a massive shame they're not repairable these days, just a way to make more profit and generate more environmental waste at the same time. Saying that, people probably wouldn't bother having them repaired, cheaper to get a new one, unlike the older machines which if repaired would likely go on for years.
