Not to be snarky, but I'm getting tired of people bitching about deferring payroll. First of all, no one mentions revenue sharing. Some teams are just raking in money from the large market teams but choose not to put that money into their own team. Secondly, ALL teams can do deferrals. They just choose not to. This isn't a loophole in the rules. And people crying about owners not being able to pay good players is also BS. ALL but four MLB team owners are BILLIONAIRES, the rest were worth hundreds of millions (stats I checked were of 2021). They could build a competitive team if they wanted to. Lastly, deferred money has to be payed back, just not in the year the contract is signed. In the end, the Dodgers are willing and able to put together a championship team by using the established rules to their advantage and spending the money it takes (I believe last year they spent more than they earned but not 100% on it).

I hope they do implement a salary cap and a salary floor. It’s not fair my home town team will never be able to compete due to the owner never spending any money. Hope your Mets get Soto!

I agree with everything you have said. Because Biden used Harris to capture certain demographics in the election and then placed her under a rock, we have not seen Harris' "game face". People think of her as scattered and bubbly, but this was just an act. She was patient enough to allow her time to come. Since she was the AG of the State of California, and has a reputation for taking a "prosecutorial approach" during senatorial and confirmation hearings (think Amy Coney Barrett, William Barr), she might be as formidable in debate as Newsom. In a perfect world, I would pick Gavin Newsom, and Elizabeth Warren as a running mate, though. The funds and fund-raising is not as important for Democrats in this election as voter enthusiasm and turnout. I do think Harris would conclusively win against Trump. For example, under no conditions would I vote for genocide joe because of Gaza. Harris, I would be willing to give a chance.
