You said Kugel was brought to US from Europe over 800 years ago. 2023 - 800 years = 1283. That's about 200 years before Columbus landed in US. 😢

The Roma people call it, Perogo and it's basically the same recipe but without sour cream instead softened cream cheese, and extra eggs. I'm looking for a recipe that would make it rise a little higher and not be so dense and flat. Should I use extra eggs or canned milk or cream to make it soft and fluffy? Thank you.

To cut the circles a dessert glass with a sharp rim works well, it does not stick and has the stem to hold for pressure.
