you lost everyone at "margarine" . . . that stuff and canola oil and ANY seed oil are poisons to human health . . . why you departed from Butter is baffling . . . do you really think with all that "tradition" talk about Hamantaschen that they had Canola seed oil to make margarine with 2000 years ago??

You said Kugel was brought to US from Europe over 800 years ago. 2023 - 800 years = 1283. That's about 200 years before Columbus landed in US. 😢

The Roma people call it, Perogo and it's basically the same recipe but without sour cream instead softened cream cheese, and extra eggs. I'm looking for a recipe that would make it rise a little higher and not be so dense and flat. Should I use extra eggs or canned milk or cream to make it soft and fluffy? Thank you.

To cut the circles a dessert glass with a sharp rim works well, it does not stick and has the stem to hold for pressure.
