Im watching this in 2024. R.I.P shane MacGowan. AN ABSOLUTE IRISH LEGEND

Thanks Shane, you will be missed. The pure drop and a great sport here with the puppets. You left us with a great tome of music, sadly if not for the drugs and booze sure you'd have left us with more, but that's being selfish. They plied you with booze starting at 5 but also great literature, quite the concoction for a young man, you turned it into great magic plus you took the toll. Fare thee well old soul

Iranians aren't Arabs, and as for the Christians, well, they've done many good things too. Examples include in the American civil rights movement, as well as the causes of the Irish hunger strikers/martyrs of 1981
@eamon4527 Жыл бұрын
How is the American civil rights movement possibility credited to Christians when the vast majority of people who opposed the civil rights movement would of been white American Christians. You can hardly give Christians much credit in the most recent period of conflict in the struggle for Irish freedom as well with the way the Catholic church demonised Irish Republicans.

@@seanhartnett79 It's in the song. "If Israel has nukes, then why not Iran? Is an Arab as equal, to a Jewish man? And as for the Christians and their forgiveness of sin, there hasn't been a war, they haven't been"

Lyrics: So you've had enough of heartache, What has gone before And across the [?] you carry him As left outside your door That's where you stood alone tormented, As your world came crashing down But I never heard a bitter word Or saw an evil frown Then the whole world turned against you, May their souls burn in disgrace But I took you and they shook you And the tears ran down your face And then the liars almost killed you With their words that were not true But tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you Ah, tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you You're innocent as Mary, And your face was white as snow And the first time that I saw you, Oh I felt your spirit glow And we shared our nervous laughter, Put our worries on the shelf And you said, don't think of tomorrow - Let the future heal itself But the middle class subverters, They gloated at your pain They'd search you at the wakehouse And they cursed your family name But let them drink their cappuccinos In the smug way that they do [Chorus] For tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you Ah, tomorrow belongs to you love, Tomorrow belongs to you Yeah, the middle class subverters, They gloated at your pain They'd search you at the wakehouse And cursed your family name But let them drink their pints of mocha In the smug way that they do [Chorus] For tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you Ah, tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you And I wonder, how much heartache Can a single person take? Well, you've been to hell and back three times And never had a break But sometimes when you're laughing I can hear a lonely tear The laughter of a little child Grown old before her years And if you know your history Like I think I know mine Then vengeance comes to those who wait And we'll wait a long time And I don't have all the answers But there's one I know is true: [Chorus] Tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you Ah, tomorrow belongs to you, love, Tomorrow belongs to you Tomorrow belongs to you

He's a major talent! I've been following him loyally for *YEARS!* The redtop 'newspapers' are responsible for a good deal. They describe Shane using offensive and often personally hurtful language. They focus on the man's *NON-EXISTENT* private life, rather than his music, which is a great sin, in and of itself... I challenge *ANY* English-speaking person to read the lyrics to *ANY* of Shane's songs and not be moved by their beauty. "Lullaby of London" and "The Sickbed of Cúchulainn" are two shining examples. The former being a slow ballad where Shane paints a beautiful image right from the opening line: "As I walked down by the riverside one evening in the spring..." and the latter being a frantic ode to a drop of poison, foreign lands, angels, devils, fighting, fucking and reincarnation! The content of "The Sickbed of Cúchulainn" immediately cements MacGowan's status as lyricist extraordinaire. If you haven't heard him or his lyrics yet, you are in for a *BIG TREAT!* All the best, From Shane's number one fan in Ireland, Davey Hughes... \m/(>_<)\m/ Rock on Shane!

Irish people are in no way, shape or form racist. Not at all. They are an ancient civilization. They are acutely aware of their cultural, religious & ethnic heritage. It comes from the time of the clans. Britain broke the clans but not its idea which persists to this day. That's way Irish people can be so wicked to each other but when confronted by outsiders they swarm together. It's in their blood.
@Bimagragaireacht8 жыл бұрын
You couldnt be more wrong man...the people screaming the loudest about immigrants are the ones who contribute nothing to our country,to be irish is to one of us in spirit youneednt be born here or been here or live here,the people come here because they trust we will help we cannot turn them away or we will lose something truely in us which is that we help.. we cant watch people die at our borders. so Ali do not pretend or think you represent us,id rather a country of coexisting people like we have than you with hatw and intolerance in your heart.Go raibh maith agat agus slan libh.
@MustafaAli-mf4tn8 жыл бұрын
+Oisin O Toole where did I say I represent all Irish people? I didn't. I don't see anyone dying on our borders as you so glibly describe, where is that? Newry, Derry? Aughnacloy? I've been here for over twenty years & gave an assessment of what Irishness is from an outsiders perspective. I engage & talk to people who look at my culture with disdain & hatred. I m not dogmatic in any area of life. Btw don't assume I consider myself "new Irish"; identity, culture, ethnicity & faith run deep in all men. Also don't assume we have socialist leanings, nearly all of us are social conservatives.
@MustafaAli-mf4tn8 жыл бұрын
+Oisin O Toole I just seen you accusing me of having "hatred in my heart", how in God's name do you make that out? Your projecting your own insecurities on to me, so Oisin, show me where from my initial post where " I have hatred in my heart". I'm waiting.

I support a united Ireland and believe in a few Socialist ideas but Ireland does NOT need multiculturalism! It creates many problems, and for a country to survive a very strong united culture is required.
@victordavid56978 жыл бұрын
+NordicHellas Problem is, cultures and nationalities have never been fixed thing, that's the whole history of mankind. I'm not Irish so I wont talk in the name of Irish people, but as great (and awful) their history has been, that does not mean history has to stop at one moment, and this is the same for everyone all over the world. Right now I have not the courage to argue about all tmy ideas (but if we start a discussion I could), but I cannot think change (as itself) is a bad thing for any culture. We juste have to admit that cultures are just as changing as the people that compose them :)
@nordichellas31557 жыл бұрын
Yes things change with time and those changes can be positive or degenerate and cultures CAN go downhill. Thus why we need to control the path the culture goes down.

"Nordicchellas" really concerned about "degeneration" and "controlling culture". I doubt you have any real commitment to Ireland you just have a commitment to whiteness. Whiteness isn't Ireland. Irish is a state of mind. Take your Supremacy elsewhere
