When you step on the brake pedal it is letting air leak past the brake pedal side of the booster. That's the hissing you are hearing inside the vehicle. The air leaking past the booster leans out the mixture and the idle speed increases. You need to rebuild or replace the brake booster and then deal with the low idle issue.
@DuchesnesCorner
@DuchesnesCorner 4 күн бұрын
I had the booster apart and all seemed good. But I will for sure be checking it again to find the leak. Cause yes, all other lines are attached.

Awesome progress. I wouldn't sweat that thread insert repair at all, that's a good permanent fix, especially since it isn't a high torque fastener. Slick job on the pedal too. I know from experience it is tough cutting up brand new expensive parts, but the result is awesome. Looking forward to the test drive!

Not in 1964. This double pot is a huge upgrade compared to origonal. Origonal was one line splitting to 4 wheel cylinders evenly. At least now I have a bigger force pushing the front and a little less in the back. 70/30 in a perfect world. But no, no such valve in 1964 on these cars.

She purrs amazingly well for no tuning whatsoever. Glad you got the charging sorted. I was willing you through the screen to toss that regulator. An internally regulated alternator would eliminate a fair bit of shenanigans, but I doubt you want to change wiring at this point, and it looks like you are going for as original as possible. Also, If it were mine, I would already have a shoelace throttle and a milk crate seat for the first drive through the field!
