Nice vid, I’d rather hear the river. That music adds nothing, imho.

Music in these sorts of videos is always a distraction. The rivers have more interesting things to say than any contemporary band.

I hope you guys were considerate of the others, younger and older on the trail as you passed by. I had the experience of some clown nearly knocked my wife off the trail as he went head first down the steps. Lot of blood on his face after a lengthy awkward slide over several rocks. Lucky for my wife she didn’t fall but he didn’t prove anything except a lack for a lack of good judgement and a disregard for others who were there to enjoy a spectacular hike.

We definitely don't have attitude "we own the trail", like some goons have and totally experienced this first hand. We respect all hikers, no matter how fast or slow, young or old, no priority treatment just because we moving faster then most. Starting early gives advantage avoiding most of the crowds, but going down, especial on wet Vernal fall section, seems to be always crowded, no matter what time of the year. We are out there just to have fun and not beat some records. We did had quite a few moments stuck behind barely moving hikers and did not mind a bit, but gladly had a break ourselves. Obviously those moments did not made last cut :-)

I also took video of my day hikes up in yosemite. We started by 4 mile hike to glacier point to nevada falls down to vernal and into curry village all in one day. we started round 830 ish 9am. Then we finished round 6pm i believe i dont remember. Whats the name of the song? its badass.

Anyone know where to tie the rope? Went the other day couldn't even find it

U have to lead an A3 pitch to set the rope.

So, the rope just stays attached in the elements all the time? Looks super fun and I'd def do it if I ever make it to el cap but man that's sketchy knowing that rope is there for who knows how Long!! Even if they changed it every few months..

fkt etc are a mental game. training is somewhat easy. you are an athlete then you are able to perform the training. the mental game is all the support. and the learning that comes from "live training" exercises is invaluable. :)

I always wondered about using the adjustable stirrups for aiding and how to use them. That seems like a very efficient way to move up a bolt ladder versus using the standard etrier.
@HondoTrailside7 жыл бұрын
As far as I can see he is doing what you can do by simply using the same step on regular adders, with bilateral separation (1 foot high, the other low). So it comes down to which is the most generally practical overall, unless you want to carry both.

Very inspiring video... in fact I started running again after watching this video and I did remembered when I used to be in pretty good shape being a runner and rock climber. So, I decided to start this free global fitness community to connect and share goals, pictures, and videos with all the nice people that love running or any other fitness activity.... myrunnerpal.com

Nice video. Would you be able to give me any tips on keeping the camera steady? Your footage looks very good. Was it the particular camera mount or did you do some additional plug in stabilization post? I was lucky enough to get in WS this year and would like to take a GoPro on part of the trail during the week leading up. Might only get one chance, so trying to get the best I can! Thanks.
@dkumpa11 жыл бұрын
Just a GoPro on X-shot stick. Then Adobe Aftereffects with Twixtor plugin for stabilizing video.You can see in some shades what the mount looks in this video. Half Dome Trail Run in Yosemite Valley

Good luck on WS race. I probably would keep it simple and use as simple mount as possible. www.amazon.com/XShot-XSP2-Pocket-Camera-Extender/dp/B004URTJ6U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1391721308&sr=8-3&keywords=x-shot+mount It has enough of length but small enough to put back in a pack if you carry one.
