As a SR125 user I would say FK NO!!! 125's have shit brakes and tiny tyres that suck in the rain...And I am a food courier. I would rather have a heavy 500cc than my 125cc that gets blown around in a light wind.

Couldn't agree more! I love my 500. In Europe I use it for anything from going to the gym to a week in Spain...! But the 125 was fun in Dunedin. My new bike down south is likely to be an MT450 or the new Himalayan (for back roads Southern Alps)... Watch this space :)!

Is this exhaust road legal? Im asking this since i am intrested in buying this system but i can see the catalytic converter is missing and i assume that with this new exhaust system the motorcycle no longer complies with the emission standards.
@stumpy200vetmx
@stumpy200vetmx 6 ай бұрын
Hi Edy - with the usual caveat that I'm not able to provide legal advice 😂😂 - what I can say is that there's no catalytic converter on the stock system. So in terms of emissions, there's no change from swapping exhausts.

Eyup buddy, so you've been keeping busy...... other than freezing in the garage thinking about a warm beach somewhere 😂, its always some sensor on newer bikes it was the same with my mates, he has put some colour matching fuel pipe on (as you do 😐) and give the tps a bump, it would only rev so high then start popping and cut out, all I did was unplug and plug it back in on the off chance and it was fine after that lol, not been a problem since. Good to see you again and it will soon be time to get the bikes back out 👍
@stumpy200vetmx

Hi Dave... Not been busy riding - the weather has been absolutely abysmal, so gave up and decided to do my first four stroke rebuild! I'd been unsure whether to do it myself or take it to a local mechanic who knows what he's doing, but ultimately decided to take the plunge and do it myself. Had a couple of issues (another short vid to come) but got the job done, learned a lot and will certainly be easier next time. Still, as a slow and careful home mechanic I reckon it'll take a full day next time, vs half that on my two strokes. That said she was all in good nick internally and was no where near desperately needing a new piston despite 85 hours running. I guess that's the benefit of 5 hour oil changes and being a vet and not being on the rev limiter all the time ;)!!

I guess there's 'those who have and those who will' and I've just moved groups! @stumpy200vetmx Yeah, I've rode a few places that once it's graded and wet down, it's great, but as soon as the lines get down to the hard pack, it's really slick and if it rains you're in for a treat. Interesting you should say that - the engine is great but despite correct springs for weight, professional revalving and lots of fine tuning with clickers and preload I've never got on with the fork either. Hi Luis - yes that's correct - it's a 2016, and yes if you look after them they are cheap to run and will run forever. I've got a vid on my channel about whether to upgrade to a later model. The 19" front and lighter clutch would be nice. But in short I'm very short and even the 2016 I have I have lowered, so I've decided against for now. A 2016 with 12000 km will be great value and a great bike!
