I was born in 2004 and luckily i was able to experience the last few years of saturday morning cartoons. I mostly remember CWVortexx. Which is why this news segment exists because that block closed in 2014. I blame FCC regulations and they’re constant spergy push for educational content. I wish saturday morning cartoons would return but kids nowadays have youtube and social media for entertainment. Plus there are free streaming apps that host live tv with channels dedicated to animated/childrens content

I don't even know if i can watch modern programs without childrens tv series era

Even preschool channels don't produce shows based on books anymore

Anyway I only wanted all good shows that fans loved to have a happy ending on time

I can only watch cartoons if I'm still a kid or the show has the highest amount of episodes depending how long it lasts

It was more fun with or without preschool shows but nowadays preschools aren't an option today

I never knew that they did a news broadcast on the demise of the Saturday morning time slot! Aleast they're generous enough to make it known!

I advise everyone to go DVD hunting for the complete series of animated shows not just from the 1990's, but early 2000's as well to keep the spirit & magical memories of Saturday morning cartoons alive. Litton Entertainment/FCC should be ashamed for taking this educational stuff way too far!!!

In the 2010s, we Americans and Canadians lost NBC, CBS, CW, and ION kids programs in a blink of an eye, and the world is educated, next year there is no shortage of volunteers, no shortage of joy with happiness, I know you understand and that includes everyone.

Very sad and depressing to see an end to such a delightful weekly pleasure. I grew up in the 80s and early 90s. Saturday morning cartoons were the highlight of my week that I looked forward to all week long. After a long week of school, it was pure bliss to wake up on my day off to enjoy such escapism. Even in the late 90s as a young adult working full time, I still enjoyed watching cartoons on Saturday mornings as it was still my day off. The younger generations will never know this routine. Everything is at their fingertips at any time. That loses a lot of the magic in my opinion.
