As a doctor who plays badminton regularly one other frequent injury is Elbow tendinitis . One important aspect of racket swing is to avoid stick smashes as it produces unecessary pressure to the elbow tendons , always follow through after the shuttle is hit as to absorb shuttle impact energy . This advice is especially true for beginner + intermediate players who dont have the elbow tendon conditioning of pro players

Thank you so much, I have tried it and it easily adds lot of power especially mid court and front…. But I find it hard to hit smooth swing when the shuttle is falling faster or I am reaching late while shuttle falling below my head level

Sometimes I become slow at preparing because i keep rotating sa racket. Bad habit i guess
@ShuttleLife6 күн бұрын
Normal habit. But yeah see if you can learn not to do it. It might give you a worse grip than you want and takes a small amount of focus away.

nice video, what about the deep corner forehand footwork (right handed), when I am being very late to the shuttle... seems to me as if many injuries also happen here quite frequently... in case you dont land correctly with your foot and knie...
@ShuttleLife9 күн бұрын
I will do a version 2 tomorrow - with the late forehand. Some times it is the same with the knee getting to far out or the foot turning the wrong way. It might also be that your are turning too much and your hip is in danger. 🫨

How do you prevent golfer's elbow from this intense repetitive action?
@johnedward39476 күн бұрын
just my assumption u might hold your racket too tight, or your racket too light and too flexible

Really nice video! Only thing I would like to add is the need for proper warm-up and cooldown to minimise injury risk or minimise impact in case an injury happens. Badminton is such a high impact sport and injury can get you some downtime so we all need to be cautious.
@ShuttleLife12 күн бұрын
Yes of course. Warm up is much important. This video should be more like a technical analysis of watching someone play - to help people get a better understandment of what they are doing and are they exposing there body for unnessecary pressure that could lead to injuries.
