I met Richard Lang in Dublin a few years ago, at a seminar in Castleknock (courtesy of Colm Stanley thanks Colm); and he was as he is in this talk. It's a nice memory. Some guys who are enlightened teachers present themselves as superior beings (it seems) ... and one feels guilty or "less than" when listening to them. With Richard, it is ordinary ... and there is a sense of relief. He has a sense of humour too! ❤ *Thanks, Richard, for all you bring to the world.*

You've made these words of Bankei wonderfully clear, Richard. Thank you. I am grinning from a sudden deeper insight. Of course, these words were Douglas's message and yours over so many years, too. The use of the mirror reminds me of the zen master asking the student to express the meaning of the moon in the lake. The student answered, 'A donkey looking at a well'. The master said, 'Not bad, but only 80%.' The student asked what the full answer would be, and the master replied, 'Well looking at a donkey.'

In Revelation 2:12 we read: “To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it” - the name on the white stone is I AM - known only to the one who receives it.

Let's not get too poetic now: "I am the space that galaxies appear" Don't get lost in these grandiose narratives. What use is that?

I wonder if being headless is what kept Douglas so young - you would never guess he is the age he is in these videos, it's unbelievable.
