when Brent was acutally cool

Brent Smith has been my favorite vocalist since I discovered Shinedown in High School around 03 04, and ultimately became my role model for singing. I've been watching these acoustic performances since you uploaded them 10 years ago and I come and listen to them every now and then because each one Brent is so incredibly in the moment. He fucking NAILS every improved melody and notes. Seriously dude, thank god you recorded these, this night was of his best performances, especially when putting the whole night together. If only I could have been there.. Fuckin chills man, everytime. Like god DAMN : 2:35 2:46 1:45 Each one of these, he makes this note his BITCH and that's right at the peak of his range and shy's away from it during live/acoustic shows but as a singer when you're so in the moment you know you're gonna make it incredible

All the way back when I first all these videos from this performance, it still is my favorite. Brent Smith is legit my singing inspiration and just the definition of soul and emotion in music today IMO

@addisonshinedown Jasin was married to Ronnie's daughter when Shinedown first started out, and played shows at Ronnies wifes club and did the song as a tribute and to thank her, and they stopped when Jasin was kicked out of the band, wasnt right to play the song when the guy connected to it for them is no longer in the band

they stopped for 2 reasons, they feel it isn't right to play a song they dedicated to the late dimebag darrel, but two (more important) jason was the one who wanted to play it, brent never wanted to.

Personally, I'm not a fan of josh Groban. Sure the guy can sing, but I find his voice and his style annoying.
