I'm planning to buy an Olds Ambassador from 1953 so I wanted to see a similar model in action, but let me say that I'm happy I stumbled upon this video, your performance of Old Folks is amazing! The tone, the notes, I'll definitely come back to listen to it again soon :)

These olds bells of the mid 50's and late 50's ambassadors were quite heavy weight so they give a nice dark tone and nice overtones...good for closed mic jazz recordings...not so much for orchestral. But they are good horns and usually the valves are good :)

Bought a 1956 Olds Ambassador in a pawn shop for $100. Playing in my jazz band with it every weekend! Love it. Nice video J. Dane. Great tone.

Awesome sound! I just picked up a 1955 Olds Ambassador Fremont, CA. for CDN $40. Had to solder off the tuning slides to get them out. Might need some plating on the valves due to lack of use. Plan to have it restored.

Great sound!. I was able to find a '63 that had the bell bent up. $100 on craigslist. I bent it back down and the horn sounds fantastic. Really a nice horn, compared to my crappy '66 Reynolds.
