Quick question for you. I have the Shockwafe 9.2.4 (not sure if it's the Ultra) and an LG smart TV. When I watch KZbin from the smart TV, I get sound dropouts through the sound system. I believe that this is because to mitigate self-noise from the unit, when it perceives zero input, it will shut off the amplifiers so there is no his that is ABSOLUTELY present on my old Sony system. Then, when it gets another non-zero signal, it takes a moment for the amplifiers to "wake up" and start sending sound. This is especially annoying when watching a video where someone has used a noise gate or aggressive noise reduction without any kind of background noise or music bed. It's really only a big problem for KZbin as almost all other content and media usually has SOME kind of background sound at all times. It's just poorly mastered KZbin. It can also take 4-5 seconds to get the sound going on a new KZbin video. I was wondering if you experience any sound dropouts at all from your time with the system or if you know of a solution. I've tried all sorts of things, firmware upgrades and all different settings.

How about a meter mounted transfer switch and a whole home generator. Allot less junk on the wall.

Does it matter which side the speaker wire connection is on? I have the full system, minus the remote (thrifted) Like brand new, everything hooked up, subs are subtle and soundbar working but the surround and rear speakers are not active. I have the elbow of the speaker wire at the speakers, not the woofers. When I pressed the "demo" button all 4 speakers sample successfully. I ordered a replacement remote from Nakamichi, and assume that will make everything work.

I am on my Third Whynter unit, I would not recommend them. They seem to work for a year then stop. 1st one stop worked for a year then stop putting out heat or AC, it was replace under warranty and the same thing happen to the second unit. Compressor would come on but no cooling or heat. My 12 inch klipsch just stopped working. 12SW. I've seen people replacing capacitors on amp and it fixes it. I've had sub for 4 years. right before failure it was making popping sound. Almost like lose wire. but took apart all connections good. started to cut in an out then silence . wasn't pushing it to hard . Green power light turns on. Seems to be an issue . Great sub otherwise .

The generac smart transfer switch will always automatically switch to grid power if grid power is available and the main disconnect is in the "On" position, regardless of the operation of the manual switch. About the banana plugs, the panel directly behind the speaker jacks is metal with VERY little clearance . I set my new receiver up screwing the stripped wires into the jacks like I have always done and as soon as it tried sending the speakers a signal it went into speaker protection mode. I panicked and thought I bought a lemon, then I finally found the problem. I know that banana plugs are recommended over stripped cables, but having a metal panel less than a quarter inch from the hole where you screw in the speaker wires is a serious design flaw. It's a minor issue if you figure it out, and I'm happy with my receiver so far, but they have probably eaten a lot of unnecessary return costs because of that.

The conversation from his end could be described as disingenuously over-cheery, while conspicuously disinterested and unsympathetic. I would be surprised if there were more than 10 words strung together that didn't come straight from a laminated script. When I gave him my credit card number to pay for the shipping he said, "Now unfortunately it appears that the part is on a backorder, and we won't be able to ship it until October 3rd (this was the end of August)" I say "Wait... What???" He says "Yeah, and normally we wouldn't charge you for the shipping until we sent the part, but because it's more than 30 days away, we're going to need to settle (the script's less confrontational word for "charge") today, otherwise when it goes more than 30 days without being paid for the system will cancel the order." The word "backorder" makes me leery, especially if it's more than a week or 2 because in my experience it can also be synonymous with "we don't know when it will be here, but this will give you really low expectations that will be easier to deal with if things don't go as we hope." I paid the fee, so we'll see what happens, but this was such a disappointing experience. The shipping wasn't very much, but by putting it on me for their faulty part seems ridiculous. It would sound better if you got that center speaker off the top of the table and lift it up underneath your TV. Your Twitter is hitting the table top. You think it sounds good. It sounds way better if you do that.

Wood love a video on how to connect and set it up. I am a single woman and I am not exactly a very good handy person. I do have an outlet right underneath my electrical panel and I did the math to figure out what size I would need. Just one person living in my house, so a video taking us through it step-by-step, so that I could do it myself would be very helpful for people that are not very handy. I don't necessarily need to call Electrician because I already have the plug from the previous owner.

Your subs should be next to your couch. I have this system and not all that impressed. I was suckered by the 9.2.4 Atmos. Bose acoustimass sounds way better IMO.
