You sure are a friendly guy. Thanks for sharing. I recently purchased one of these squashes and I'm excited about growing them by saving the seeds for next year

I'm from Louisiana and I recently bought a cushaw and cooked it with my mom especially since my grandmother cooked it in pies and casseroles. I'm saving the seeds and slices, but I'm trying to see when we should grow the cushaw in what month.

Just found your channel. I'm retired and farm 5 acres. I've grown cushaw ( in Wisconsin ) for three years and love them. Looking forward to going thru your videos. I'm particularly interested in heirlooms. My friend brought me some fish pepper seeds from his family in North Carolina. I would appreciate any suggestions of seeds grown by African Americans.I love the way that growing food bonds us to each other. God Bless.

Brother, those flowers are edible and quite delicious. Put some bread crumbs batter with eggs and deep fried them or bake them. Trust me you will love them! I used to live over in Italy and they sell all kinds of pumpkin/squash flowers and they are AMAZING. Also cut them up and put them in a salad, or just cook them as they are on a pizza.

I’m growing cushaw for the first time this year. I’d never heard of it before last year when I saw “Homestead Hart” talking about how delicious it is. I can’t wait to try it!

Beautiful presentation! If I had to pick only one tomato on this earth, it would be a Paul Robeson tomato. They are everything a tomato should be. My grandmother tried one from my garden last year and said “ohhhhh yeah, now that’s such a good tomato my mouth is watering as I eat it! Haven’t tasted a tomato like that in decades” It’s also one of my best producers and the taste takes you away✨ Great video I hope more people try this masterpiece tomato! Thanks so much!

My grandmother used to cook cushaw the same way as your wife’s side of the family. We’re from Pointe Coupee Parish. My father used to grow it behind our house. I’ve been searching for days to figure out what this vegetable was until today. I thought it was a French word because my grandmaw spoke creole and would mix in some creole words with English sometimes

I came across your video looking for help with my cushaw plant. I'm a new gardener and was looking at the spots and hoping it wasn't powdery mildew. I'm from Louisiana as well but living up north and wanted a little piece of home.
