OMG that looks fantastic! I see the initiation FEE to use it is $10,000 and 270 a month on top of that! Non-resident$ are a little higher. An olympic size swimming pool right on the ocean? One just hopes it's not affected by coastal erosion in the near future. They certainly wouldn't build a pool like that in Florida or Louisiana or Texas, could they?

Ive been gone too long. Me and my girlfriend used to climb the cliffs down when it was just natural shoreline back in the mid seventies.

Even in 49-50 seconds, I was half expecting to see some land movement. That’s a bummer. Good to see this club there, though.

Lived on Via Almar from 1990 to 1996 when they brought the club back. Really fun watching it come together with all the new members. Sad to say, the second generation of young families were very cliquish during the party functions. It was fun surfing Hag's and paddling in and taking a nice shower there.

Pee water springs is opposite there. We would climb "agony hill" from Malaga cove, take a walk along pee water springs up to shpping center. Fun times.

@@S.StarsNBars have you seen how much water is being pumped out 24/7 from the condos and apts in Malaga Cove

I recall water coming down from those buildings across the street from the plaza. When I attended Malaga Cove. We would check out the various sea life during low tide, the various sea creatures would get stuck in the rock formations known as "tide pools'" This place is a unique area.

In the 80s, this was called "Rossler Pool." Malaga Cove Intermediate was the name of the school above to the left. Very cool getting to see this.

In the 1970s we called that "peewater springs"

Just saw video of what the beach looks like today with all the sliding and subsidence happening. Lots of change! The beach is bigger. All that shallow water you see, the ground just lifts up and becomes more beach. Meanwhile big chucks of street up the suburbs is sliding away. Water is washing out through the bentonite clay layer which is very slippery and it is very strange layer slippage.

Is that current video you mentioned on KZbin?
@OWK0003 ай бұрын
@@gina000 There are a few news channel bits on the beach transformation, if you search youtube for Palos Verdes Beach changes, or P.V. landslide beach, but I saw this one by local realtor and lifetime resident, Jason Buck: "Land Movement in Palos Verdes Creates a New Coastline and Uncovers Fossils in Stretch of Shoreline"

Watching the video a second time, this beach club almost reminds me of a huge ship land locked, and now it’s a club.

That’s quite the beach club! I like the piano. It’s very fitting. It’s really hard to describe the feeling I get from this place. Big and awesome, tucked away in kind of a strange location. Interesting, never the less!

@winterhawk1987 the video is great, if you feel the need to film it again, you could. I think it’s well done. I think the music is perfect! Majestic, with elegance. I think any video would be good. Where I live in Vancouver British Columbia, we have nothing like that.

@winterhawk1987 Жыл бұрын
do a youtube search of Joyrider TV, he has a lot of really good catamaran sailing and teaching videos, we all started by sailing and racing small beach cats, there are not a lot of big catamarans like this one in the video who race regularly and crew need to have experience.
