I have recently discovered that my first American ancestor on my mothers side was Jean L’ Archeveque. He was said to be the 15 year old boy who was the decoy for LaSalle’s assassination. That probably means he was on that ship at some time. This is all so fascinating. I’m not sure if Jean (aka Juan) was a hero or villain. From my research most would consider villain. What if LaSalle had lived, would the French had a stronger hold on the land? Would the Louisiana purchase happened? None the less, recovery of LaBelle is amazing. I will never see her in person so I enjoy these videos and any information. Thank you!

Jimmie Vaughan is untouchable in the first 3 T-Birds albums, he planted the seed for many guitar players that came later on.

Janna stated she thought it was bizarre that #1 was on display at the exhibit. Did she not understand why his fans would want to see it? She also complained there was no collaboration with her. But since she sued Stevie’s family to collect from his estate, Jimmie undoubtedly figured she wasn’t interested in collaborating with him. Why did she go to the exhibit? Was she seeking praise or recognition? When she visited there, she became angered to discover she was not mentioned anywhere, except for the coptic crosses both she and Stevie had. In retaliation, she turned her focus toward criticizing Jimmie’s arrangement of the exhibit and finding fault with it. She said it was just “stuff” and nothing denoted Stevie’s personality or virtuosity. She mentioned there were some handwritten lyrics on display, which would show his thoughts. But what would she have done any differently? She also stated “So you think you can just rewrite history”. If she thinks Jimmie intentionally omitted her name from the exhibit, she needed to understand that the exhibit was about Stevie and his musical legacy. It wasn’t intended to be about her, this time.

I Love Stevie Ray Vaughan, everyone knows he's a once in a hundred year guitar player. I have equal respect for Jimmy, some of those old fabulous T-Bird videos out there, like when they played Austin City limits, still give me goosebumps. If you want to see Jimmy Lee on his game, check out " crawl " , live on Austin City limits.. I hope Jimmy Lee keeps on playing, as long as he wants to !

I've met lots of music stars over the years, and I mean a lot! Jimmie Vaughan is without doubt, the nicest and friendliest of them all (followed by Joe Strummer) A genuine person who loves his fans. And it's very real.

Yes, I was standing in front of Antones waiting for my uber after Jimmies show and a little while on 6th street. I almost soiled myself when Jimmie came walking out right in front of me. He carries his own guitar and is so very nice to his fans. He stopped and said hi and asked how I was doing. He was hanging out, taking pictures with his fans. What a guy! Love you Jimmie!!! Words can’t even begin to describe how much your music means to us… Sue Foley is such a sweetie too!

Jimmie’s guitar style may well have started with the same roots as his little brother’s - they both devoured Johnny Guitar Watson’s style while growing up. But JV ultimately took a more subdued, lower key approach than Stevie Ray, allowing listeners to hear the similarities and savor the differences as well. irom.wordpress.com/2010/11/17/live-rock-and-blues-jimmie-vaughan-at-the-canyon-club/

Jimmie Vaughan, brother of Stevie Ray Vaughan, is quoted as saying: "When my brother Stevie and I were growing up in Dallas, we idolized very few guitarists. We were highly selective and highly critical. Johnny 'Guitar' Watson was at the top of the list, along with Freddie, Albert and B.B. King. Watson influenced Jimi Hendrix, Sly Stone, Etta James, and Stevie Ray Vaughan."
