i went to the Zoo in Prague last week and they have two polar bears in a similar sized enclosure and they were just pacing back and forth. I haven't been to any Zoo as an adult (and maybe once or twice as a kid) and my mind is completely split. On one hand it was mind blowing to see these animals in person, but very quickly I started feeling a sense of dread/guilt/shame as I was leaving. Then I got home and started researching stereotypic behaviours of animals in captivity and I feel awful about it. The entrance fee was only like $15, but I don't think I will be supporting any zoos in the future.

Yes out in the wilderness where it has to go for weeks without food and fight for territory or get killed by its own kind. There are trade-offs to life and open Wilderness is freedom and small enclosures are confinement.

@@serronserron1320 polar bears are literally adapted to go for weeks without food... they have been doing it for hundrds of thousands of years. And they fight? who? aint no body fighting a polar bear except another polar bear, and i doubt that happens very often

@@friedchicken4326 plus their territory is several square miles so being trapped in such a small space is basically torture. Its not the case for all animals but having Polar Bears in enclosures is definitely very cruel.

He's just pacing in circles. You can see the wet dirt and the figure 8 he created. Kinda sad. Hopefully the enclosure is bigger on the other side. I've seen a polar bear enclosure 4 to 5 times that size.
