I did this road trip twice ... one in 2011 (12 hours in the raining season) and the second time in 2015 (9 hours in the dry season) ... the debris road is rough but the country around it is very beautiful and pays you back ... since 2019 there is a modern highway that shortens the time a lot (5 hours in total with careful driving) ...

The road from Nai to loitoktok from Emali was that bad when I was little we would leave Nairobi 5am to get there in the evening but was always fun seeing all animals on the way and also going hours without seeing a single kuddos to gorverment seems they doing great in infrastuture if they kill this demon called corruption every thing will be all fine. I enjoy the vedio and nice songs too.... london.

First of all, great music that was. i am planning to do a return trip of the same road from nairobi and back. I'll be travelling on my subaru legacy me and my best friend, i cant wait to experience the scenery and wild virgin wilderness on the road, however we are lucky that the new road has been complete so no gravel. Great adventure you must have had. Kudos!

Thanks for sharing once again. It would have been nice to film the longest trains in Mauritania that haul phosphate from the mines in the Sahara. But then you may not have come across any. It looks like there was a lot of off-roading in this. Once again I admire your stamina to bike through this vast area with absolutely nothing to see. At least the ocean gave you some respite. I am really enjoying every episode. Once again thanks.

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if you started in Kara, Togo. I was checking the map of Google and it looks like you started in the northern part of Togo and then crossed over into Burkina Faso. I admire your will, strength and willpower to do this and I am planning to see the other videos. The road seemed to be non-existent but I was surprised to see the wet road because this part of the African Sahel is suffering from major drought and is known to have a terrible issue of deforestation and the encroachment by the Sahara desert, hence desertification. So nice of you to show us a part of the world that we will never see.

This was AWESOME. I can't BELIEVE how good the roads are now! You could NOT have done this trip 10 years ago, as almost all the roads were like what you showed around minute 12:35 (in and out of Addis). I'll be back in Addis next month for a visit and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I hope it will always stay with you and that you at least got to experience some of the hospitality and good food of Ethiopia.
