Hello. Im a new subscriber. I have edges just like yours. Don’t know your story but I’ve never really had edges at all as a kid too, I’m 34 now. Last year I finally went to get a biopsy of my scalp and was told I had central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia with some traction. Told I had ccca made sense because I knew my aunt and grandmother had the same issue but it was never spoken about because it was unknown. I was wondering tho, have you tried minoxidil.?

Idk if you remember me but I spoke to you about either aloe or rosemary or microneedling… cannot remember which as I use all three… Well anywho; I shaved my edges bald in December because they were sparse… They’re back now and it had me wanting to ask you how it’s going but I’m glad to see they’re improving… Bless you…

At first, honestly, no. I did it on impulse. When they grew back the first time, I shaved them off again twice within the first two months because they came back sparse and not like I had imagined. But after the third shave, I noticed they were fuller than ever, just too light to see clearly. I’ve always had thin edges since I was born, so I could instantly tell the difference. However, they were too short to look like anything significant, so I micro-needled. This darkened my scalp with tiny scabs and gave me a look I’d never seen on myself, almost like the hair spray men use after a shape-up. It gave me the confidence to wear my edges out. I kept it like that for a while, but then I noticed my hair looked sparse again once the scalp healed. It didn’t look as thin as before because I got some growth in places I’d always had trouble with, but the new hair was still lighter than the rest. So, I used henna and indigo dye, which initially gave me a better hairline. But it lightened over time again. I stopped micro-needling for a while and continued with henna and indigo since it’s less painful. However, I noticed my strands seemed drier than normal, so I started clipping the ends of my edges. Now, I’ve been mixing all of those treatments with rosemary and aloe. I have the best hairline without dyeing it, and as it grows, it’ll be darker and thicker. I compared it to last year’s photos, and indeed it worked best. I can’t tell you which treatment mattered most, but I’m happy with it. Also idk if this matters but I’ve never used got to be… I make my own flaxseed gel and I know it’s super weak but idk what’s in it so o keep away..
