This is a great review. I just pulled the trigger on this jacket that was in my checkout basket because of this. Dude gives me the information that all the usual outlets don't, in a real setting, actually wearing the stuff, moving around, talking about being cool (literally) and cool (stylistically) and I believe him; he's clearly not a super slick spokesdude. Looking forward to riding my new Royal Enfield with this gear. Thanks man.

First bikes are commonly cruisers. Unless you come a dirt bike background, then it's typically a sport or adventure bikes. Doesn't matter. Make sure you can physically handle the bike and ride safe. Also, don't be in love with your first bike, you're gonna drop it. Like your first car, the door dings will happen. I do see women/girls buying their first bike based on what their boyfriend or husband rides. If you are new to riding and your riding partner is experienced, you need to be in front. It's too tempting to try and keep up with an experienced rider. KZbin is full of fails and serious crashes that prove the point. New or experienced, regardless of age or gender, ride to your own ability. New riders will get there with time.

People that say cruisers are a slow bike must have never heard of the Honda Magna or the Yamaha V-max. Any body that says those bikes are slow has no idea what they are talking about. I've got an 83 Honda VF 750( V45) and that thing is meant to do over 200 kph( I'm in Oz hence the kph ). I've never done anywhere near that as I value my licence to much and the fines are very big here.

I am a huge fan of the shadow as well! Unbelievable amount of aftermarket potential. FB marketplace is a great place to find a starter bike, and cruisers have a better chance of being sold “as described” due to the older demographic usually selling them.

Great points bud! The only thing that matters i wether or not you like the bike. Got an adv bike at 18 was a great choice. The heavy bike taught ne smoothness in corners (plenty of em here in europe) andallowed me to travel. I now prefer small rides of 120miles max so, as I dont care about topspeed, 4 years ago at 22 i switched to a supermoto. Now i will go full send and switch to a real 240lbs sumo. uncomfortable as fuck gotta chabgebthe oil every 1200miles.but they are fun. On european streets it is the most fun you can have and they arevthe tool for wheelies jumps and slides :D in the states i'd probably own something comfy as well

Posting this before getting deep into the video but as a 20 year old coming from the car world to getting a weekend bike, I love cruisers because I love crushing miles and sport bikes scare me in the sense that I like making it home from a ride that I just go to decompress and enjoy, I also love the classic look and feel of them kinda like if they sold a 69 Camaro as an option new today and for Harley’s they have an amazing aftermarket support you can build whatever you want with them which is something I get from being a car guy is wanting to make my vehicles my own, don’t get me wrong I love sport bikes but I don’t see the value of it for me on public roads anything two wheels is dangerous but I don’t need the ability to go 100mph in first gear on the street on top of that, stay safe man!
@pearlwoodsinc2 ай бұрын
yes!!! I came from sport bikes, and they have fun times that come with them as well, but I quickly learned that I was more of a fan of adventuring and getting to go at my own pace, anyway! Work is stressful enough, no need to fly around the highways after I get off 😂

One thing to be aware of is this, "less is more". Clothing should be in a waterproof duffel bag or a case that can be mounted on the rack on the top box. Since you are on a Yamaha, you may or mayn't need to carry tools. A duffel bag can be mounted on the passenger seat. Luggage on the rack can make bike top heavy. If you carry a tool roll it should go in the right bag. Things that you don't need to access often should go in the right bag. Tools and things you access often should go in right bag, it's away from traffic should you need it. Electronics always go in the top box if equipped. Again, less is more. Been doing this since the 70's...Oh yeah, don't forget rain gear.
@pearlwoodsinc3 ай бұрын
I definitely learned that lesson is more! I brought a portable Bluetooth speaker I never even ended up using lol. The biggest thing I was missing is a portable jumper / tool kit, since my battery died in the middle of Michigan and I had to have somebody jump it for me. Thank you for the advice! I’ll split where I put my items from now on.
