Thankyou for your video. This is first of its kind video the moment we look for how to use fire extinguisher! We see these extinguisher cylinders everyday but don’t know how to use them!

Thanks for your question. USAR A is still in service. It has had to be serviced by a mechanic a number of times over this past year, which is why you may have seen it less.

Thank you for your question. Roughly 16% of U.S. households do not have working smoke alarms. Furthermore, not everyone tests their smoke alarms and replaces their batteries on a regular basis. That is why it's important that we continue to share this information.

I was in the very first class to move into that building in 1973. 6th grade.

How did the building look like inside back then?
@cargo22063 ай бұрын
It was cool. I had never been in a class room that didn’t have walls separating other classes. It was April and a little warm, but as soon as we stepped inside, the air conditioner had cooled the entire inside. The other classes were quiet enough. I guess the wall to wall carpeting helped with keeping the sound low. We spent the last 2 1/2 months of the school year in that building.

You do a great work, an heroic work, and I don't mean disrespect, but what can you do with 500 gallons of water??? Why carry so little???
7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. Our Type 3 Engine is balanced between water capacity and maneuverability (i.e., for off-roading). It has to be able to traverse the hilly terrain surrounding the City of San José. Additionally, it's not meant to tackle wildfires by itself, rather it is just one piece of the puzzle. For example, when there's a large wildfire near our jurisdiction, we will often work with other agencies such a CAL FIRE who have more specialized equipment for tackling such fires.
