Best, most gifted athlete ever to rome the planet...No doubt, had he not got hurt, the things we would have witnessed...

I put the clip in iMovie to try to time his home to first speed. It's difficult because he's not in the frame when he reaches first, but it about 3.5 or 3.6 seconds. Above average is 4.2 for a right-handed batter.

This is the reason I hated professional baseball. The amount of time between pitches was absurd. How he casually walks back from second would have had me cussing at the screen. Pitch clock is the best thing to happen to the sport.

That second baseman underestimated Bo's speed. He could have been more aggressive fielding that.

Had he stuck to baseball only, he had legitimate 400-500 career homerun power!

With all those soft tissue injuries he suffered, I've always suspected that he was juiced. Remember, this was just before testing for steroids started.

According to a recent book on his career, he ran to first in 3.6 seconds, which was the fastest time ever recorded at that time for a right-handed batter. Not sure if it's ever been broken. Also weird to see a Winston cigarette ad at a baseball game, but that was that era.
