Hi mate, I hope you're still online. Me and my mate wanted to start a M92 conversion in a E46 in a few months, now mostly doing research. Where did you get the adapter plate to fit the M62 with your T5 transmission. I'm stuck on what to do with the transmission. Should I get me a 6-speed 420G from a E46 M3 (which are very very hard to find) or can I go with something else? We want it manual but if our options are limited to only BMW transmissions then we're gonna have a bad time looking for a manual gearbox that takes the torque. Looking to make 400-450lb-ft (600-650Nm). Any help at all is greatly appreciated. We will be studying your videos!

i put in 10uf and 450v, the light comes on as if the battery is charging, but it doesn't seem to be enough to charge the battery. I left it on all night and the battery didn't charge.

do you have a parts list available? I too am interested in swapping in a m62 and im wanting to retain my manual transmission. here in the states these motors can be had for less than $500
@banarcus3 ай бұрын
If you have the standard Gettag manual transmission it might be a little too weak. A ZF manual transmission would be better and there a many places online that do a M62 adapter. You would do this swap cheaper than what it cost me, the US BMW market is massive.

I have a BF G8 3 v 5.4 I’ve spent 300 hours + making her as close to show room condition. She does have 136,000km one owner. I’m actually very very surprised how good she drives. I think the 260 kw 4. Valve would have been a better choice. Especially for this big long wheel based car but at least had it Optional for the BF G8 and LTD. Just my opinion. But Definitely love my G8 only 153 manufactured. ?

Low down torque and exhaust sound are what set this engine apart from the boss. Boss motors have an awesome induction noise but exhaust sound has nothing on the 3V.

Hi Mark, I'm looking at the same conversion, how did you adapt the flywheel to the transmission? As the tremec comes with 6 or 8 holes where the m62 has 9 holes. Are you able help or contacts? Anything will greatly be appreciated.
@banarcus3 ай бұрын
Depends on the bell housing you’re using. I don’t think there is a simple off the shelf adapter for any tremecs for the m62. As for the flywheel, I used a ford falcon billet steel flywheel with exedy clutch which suited the gearbox.

I need to do the opposite of this... Got a sweet deal on a Quansheng UV-5R Plus but they neglected to tell me it had a UK plug on the charging cradle. (Do they use that in China too?) I have a 110v plug from an old Baofeng charger and since it's a major step down in voltage, this should be fairly easy, no? Great (simple) video. And thanks for not shitting on the US of A. Technically, we deserve it lately because the World is going to hell and "American" leaders and special interests seem to be the engineers and conductors.

Hi Mark, awesome build. I am looking at exact V8 swap, but not many want to do the conversion. Is their a conversion kit available to suit the 5 speed also.
@banarcus Жыл бұрын
I don't think anyone makes a T5 transmission to M62 V8 adapter. Mine was purely a one off. An easy way to do it would be to use either a L322 Range Rover, E39 or E53 bellhousing off a V8 as they're detatchable. Make an adapter to suit a T5 from there and use a BMW flywheel and clutch and adapt a clutch fork/thrust bearing to suit.

@banarcus Жыл бұрын
Gday mate. It was pretty easy to do this conversion. All I did was adapt a SBF bell housing off a Ford automatic transmission and had adapters machined to fit the bell housing to the ZF transmission. Get another adapter machined to then fit between the Ford flex plate and LR 4.6 flex plate.
