GOATED MOD PACK took like 4x the time to download all of the mods because I don't have premium but all in all the time was worth it. Took about ~1h and 20m to set everything up. I have an RTX 4060 TI 16gb with an i9-9900k and was getting major frame drops during springtime while I was looking at daggerfall at night on the side of a hill while daggerfall was all lit up, i had 3D Hand Painted Models, real grass, 3d trees, and DREAM all activated, distant terrain set to 4, quality set to fantastic, detail set to max in the in-game options, reshade on and I was getting like 40-55fps while I was on that hill, but during winter time I was anywhere from 80-240fps, so I decided to follow this guide. Hopefully wont have those problems again... Update: With all of these mods enabled, I am getting 80 fps in daggerfall city.. is this normal?

The jail shown in the video is just inside one of the castles. Having jails you can escape from would be pretty cool but I don't think there is a mod for that yet.

hey man, im getting huge traverssal stuttering, is this normal? also the hd weapons textures seem to have strange jagged edges on the models mostly near the hilt, also im using 1440 p will that cause any issues?

Using 1440p shouldn't be a problem as I play on a 1440p ultrawide moniter. Some of the hd weapons from the mod haven't been completed so occasionally you will get some non HD weapons. Most of the weapons should be upscaled so if your getting this issue with all you weapons it could be a load order issue. I have a copy if the proper load order posted in my community tab. Studdering can occur when loading into new areas this can be reduced by lowering the terrain distance in the settings menu under the video tab in the main DFU menu. I keep mine at 1 but still get some occasional studdering while using real time fast traveling.

If your not bothered by straying away from the vanilla experience. The 80,000 square miles has been a wonderful sandbox for the mod-ing community. It's a huge task to fill those 80k square miles but it's being done adding rivers, shrines, bandit camps, and even unique encounters as you travel across the roads of the lliac Bay.

i decided to make the switch to retro (backed up all my saves first ofc) and nothing seems wrong so far as most of the mods that were changed were only graphical and i don't have any problems so far but if i run into anything i'll edit this comment or something, maybe comment on the nexus page edit 1 - i did run into a very minor issue, the buildings that i marked before making the switch have misaligned text, but it should be an easy fix if i just delete the markers and look at them again using info mode

At this moment yes the only difference between the mods is graphical. I also use the regular version of diverse weapons not the HD version in the retro mode. I'll check out the scroll to change interaction Mod out as well and add it to the collections. Saves should be transferable but its not something I like to practice personally. And in the future the retro mode and original versions may have different mods so keep that in mind.

There is a new game called The Wayward Relms made by some of the same developers as Daggerfall but its still in very early stages. Daggerfall is free to play and with the unity engine, as well as mods its a very enjoyable experience. I have guides on my channel on how to get the game and get it installed with or without mods

I understand that many people dislike the idea of using vortex. In the future I am more than happy to figure out a way to bring my mod collection to more likeable software such as wabajack. As far as a torrent goes I have a few problems with this mainly it prevents mod creators from getting the credit they deserve as well as I need their permission to distribute their mod somewhere else. I want mod creators to get every bit of revenue and credit they deserve so that they can continue to make mods for such an amazing game

For anyone who's never played Daggerfall but has experienced other games in the series I feel like mods are almost necessary. The vanilla experience is definitely worth a try but once you experience Daggerfall with mods there is almost no going back. I had this mod at one point, but it did make important main quest npcs clip through the floor and make them unable to be talked to, so yeah, don't download this mod if you plan on actually doing the main quest.

The mod author lost a lot of progress on the original mod when a teammate dropped out of production and took half of their work with them this was a major set back for the mod creator. They have mentioned that they are looking to work on this in the future but as of right now there is no clear time frame on a release date.

Let's play is definitely a series I've been interested in doing. Starting my KZbin channel I wanted to not only create videos but also provide a service making my content unique and giving people an opportunity to not only watch something awesome but to experience it for themselves. For a lets play series I am leaning towards live streaming as it is a far lighter workload than fully edited and recorded videos. So I will be live streaming my mod collections on TikTok as it seams like one of the best places for growth as well as using that content to create videos for KZbin. Alternative overpowered build. Unarmed. That's it, that's all you need. Everything else is just gravy. ...... ok, you still need spells like levitate/mark/recall, but hear me out. Unarmed in this game is the only skill that increases damage with skill. At rank 100 the damage is not as good as a daedric dae katana, but it's not bad either. Now, skills can go above 100, and skill increases are one of the few magical effects that don't damage magical items. Get Mage Guild to rank 5 ASAP and then just enchant everything with increase unarmed skill. You can take "take damage in holy places" as a downside. The damage done is pathetic even if you have it on like 10 times or so. Just take the gear off if you want to train in a temple so you don't spontaneously combust. ANYWAYS, if you do this (and take werewolf/vampire for the extra 30 points) you can easily get punching damage in the 60's, 70's, and possibly even in the 80's. That's basically One Punch levels at that point.

My current mod collection adds items to the game that would allow me to not have to use spells such as levitation (grappling hook mod) As well as items from the archeologists guild (Totems of mark and recall) Classes like these are what make me love Daggerfall! If done correctly it can be great! Would love a remaster but for now I settle for the multiverse edition fixes many bugs and adds cut content as well as all the patches that most people are familiar with. P.S - Its worth a download but does add a Russian keyboard to your PC which is kind of sketchy for most people but I have had no negative effects to my pc because of it other than it took me awhile to figure out how to switch back to English. (a button on the task bar allowed me to switch from English to Russian and vice-versa.)

What mod collection are you using original or retro? Did you make a portable installation like in the video using DFU 1.1.1? Check you load order as well to verify the mods are sorted correctly.

It's the largest game ever made in terms of actual area. I think someone said its equivalent to the size of Texas and would take you a minimum of 20 years to explore every town and every npc in the game if you played 8 hours a day every day for 20 years and that's if you just visited towns and did no quests.

okey after 1 hr something theres alot of notification pops up in votex app and the collection show red incomplete, notification showing: diagnostic and usage data (blue) installation of dependencies canceled (blue) failed to install dependency Basic Magic Regen v1.20 - DFU v0.13.4 (red) some mod dependencies are not fulfilled (yellow) deployment requires elevation (elevate) (cancel) there are unresolved file conflicts (yellow) may i ask what is this all about?

The collection includes mods that are OS specific so if your not using windows the collection won't work properly. I would also need permission from the mod authors to host their files off nexus.

Good day! First off, I really like what you have done here! All my favorite mods and then some. Noice! TLDR: Mages Guilds/Knightly Orders and and some Inns in Sentinel province often have the wrong map label and switched service providers. Linisa and Khajoajet being two cities this happens for me in. Sadly I ran into a problem. The first time it happened it was my own fault, because I missed the part were you copied Mods.json manually. That led to The Knights of the Dragon and the Fighters Guild in Daggerfall City not having the correct nameplates on the map. Once I realized and resolved the issue I started over since changing the load order after starting a play-through is usually not the best idea... All was well until I went to Sentinel. In Linisa the Mages Guild is labeled as Fighters Guild and one of the Inns is labeled as Mages Guild. In Khajoajet the Mages guild is labeled as Red Lantern. In Akhoaisa The Order Of The Candle is labeled as Fighters Guild. Checked a couple of other cities in Sentinel and it seems like some labels are wrong whenever a Fighter Trainers is present (Sentinel City and Tsetetturia look fine), but that could oc be a coincidence. I first didn't realize... some, but not all of the service providers are also switched in the aforementioned establishments. Overwriting the load order again didn't help like it did the first time. Then started a new save, but it didn't change anything. I now went over your whole guide again and cannot find any issue on my side. Have to go to bed soon, but I will do a complete reinstall/download tomorrow even though all seems fine on Vortex side. Afaik Vortex does checksums and corrupted downloads should have been detected. But in any case, I will do it to make 200% sure that nothing is corrupt. I'll also check more cities and other provinces if the problem persists and get back to you (Wayrest province seemed in order, same as Daggerfall, but I only visited a handful of cities in each).

Had to know and did did the complete redownload & reinstall already. Made absolutely sure to follow your guide step by step. Started a new game and made my way to Linisa in Sentinel. The issue persists. Please also check on your end as I am now pretty sure that it isn't a me problem. I am using the regular Darkerfall Unity 0.2, not the Retro package btw. Good huntn!

I want to start by saying thanks and I am glad you are enjoying the mod collection. Ok so now on to your current problem, I believe this come from the red lantern guild mod as others have encountered this problem. I am going to copy and paste some information below from the mod author because I think this is the root of your problem or at least a good place to start based on what I've read about your issue. _Quoted from harbinger451 creator of the Red Lantern Guild Mod_ "If you install this on a saved game, and you have already visited the tavern I use for the Red Lantern - it can sometimes cause strange behavior when trying to interact with the new guild and it's npcs, the factions get mixed up. If this happens, you will need to go to your saved game's folder and delete the DiscoveryData.txt file from that save (and from any others saves you may potentially use). This will clear out the already discovered buildings data so you can populate it again with fresh up-to-date data. The game will auto create a new (and correct) DiscoveryData.txt with your next save. Generally your saved games are at C:Users/[yourUserName]/AppData/LocalLow/Daggerfall Workshop/Daggerfall Unity/Saves/. If you're starting a new game, you don't need to do anything. RECOMMENDED LOAD ORDER: If you are using any or all of the following mods, please put them in this order in your mod list ... Unofficial Block, Location and Model Fixes (Essential) Finding My Religion (Recommended) Soldiers Luxury Overhaul (Recommended) Fixed Desert Architecture (Highly Recommended) Taverns Redone (Not Recommended - messes with the Quest Markers in the taverns it edits) The Red Lantern Guild Bards And Balladeers (Recommended)" _End of Quote_ Now if you created a portable installation like I recommend you should find this file here *DFU 1.1.1 Portable folder*\PortableAppdata\Saves each save file has its own DiscoveryData.txt Now I do know you said you created a fresh save so maybe this isn't your issue and its caused by your load order. The load order was indeed the issue. I now lowered "Fixed Desert Architecture" directly under "Soldiers Luxury Overhaul" and "Bards And Balladeers" directly under "Red Lantern FDA Compatibility". The other mods were already in order. That has resolved the issue. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! YOU ARE AWESOME! PRAISE BE! (╯˘ -˘ )╯

There is an issue with the Cities Overhauled: Orsinium mod (deactivating it removes the issue entirely) When fast traveling to Orsinium for the first time I get spawned under the terrain, but flying up there presents us with a weird liminal space version of the map, nothing works (doors, etc) and the whole area is cut off, void all around. There is also a post from someone else about it on Reddit, so it's not just me. This always happens when fast traveling there for the first time over vast distances, like from Daggerfall where we get the quest. However, when I first fast travel to a farmstead in the Orsinium area and from there to the city it works fine. Also it seems this only happens the first time, subsequent fast travels to Orsinium from vast distances work also fine. The city looks oc much better than the original puny village, but I think this will throw a wrench into the experience of people, especially first timers. The poster on Reddit gave up because of this.

Are you on DFU v1.1.1? If there are any issues 99% of the time it has something to do with the install process. Did you sort you load order correctly using the included files? Are you starting a new game with the collection installed or trying to load saves from a previous version? I'll do my best to try to figure this out with you.

For the most part you are correct. The vanilla game world was pretty bland and there wasn't much going on between cities other than flat trees and miles of flat land. This was a hardware limitation at the time and they chose a realistically scaled world as oppose to a realistically detailed world. The original game does have hidden witch covens that you could find although you would have to know where to look because coming across one by accident would be very unlikely. The game did have thousands of locations to explore. And said locations are usually massive labyrinths. But now with the amazing Daggerfall modding community that massive game world is being filled with roads, rivers, mountains, random encounters and much much more.

I can't seem to get the dungeon to look darker. I thought the darker dungeon would make it look darker but it did not, someone told me to change the setting and I found dungeonAmbientLightScale but that did not do anything either, not sure what I am doing wrong?

Follow the instructions around the 12:00 minute mark on the video that adjusts the lighting. A few mods work together to get my exact lighting effects like the better ambiance mod. Reshade also helps make the lighting effects more realistic.

Different graphics setup. Retro is for those who like the more pixeled or rougher look to the game. It includes a bonus retro frame mod as well. The regular edition is graphics to the max but some people say the npcs and creatures look to "painty" at times. Other than that the two collections are identical.
