Thank you so so much for this♡♡♡ So very helpful☆☆☆ But what is Waxpaper!? It's not baking sheets, so where to find this? Is it like some sort of kitchen paper? 🤔 I never seen anything like this. I live in Sweden and all I know is just the baking sheets paper and they are not this waxy-thingie you got 😅🙏💞
@Juliemeasures5 ай бұрын
Hello! So in the US, wax paper is a nonstick paper coated with food-safe paraffin wax and it generally comes on a roll. It's great when dipping things in chocolate. You can lay them on the wax paper while they dry and they don't stick. amzn.to/3SAwelP

can I make the whole hat in circular needles or do I need to move to dp needles on the decrease? Also, how many stiches for a 2 year olds hat?
@Juliemeasures Жыл бұрын
Hello! It will depend on the circular needles you are using, but generally yes. The number of stitches will decrease to where you won't be able to use the circular needles and you will need to switch to dpns. (Unless you are using the magic loop technique sometimes used when making socks. Which allows you to use one long circular needle instead of dpns.) For a 2 year old I would generally recommend casting on either 40 or 50 stitches (depending on your gauge.) You're welcome to email me for more specific pattern alterations!

In the owl hat pattern round 23, the stitches don't add up. 3+2+4+2=11x6=66, not 77. 😕
@Juliemeasures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary! Sorry for any confusion, that's 6 repeats of 11 stitches after the original 11 stitches. So 7 repeats total to equal 77 stitches.

How do they hold up in a window are near a lamp heat ??
@Juliemeasures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Katy! I would not recommend placing them in direct sunlight or too close to a lamp as the wax paper may start to curl. This display did well on both a shelf and hanging on a wall that didn't get much sunlight.

@@Juliemeasures I have been crocheting for 40 years but honestly I have lots of troubles following written patterns, especially with stitches I'm not familiar with. Although, I can crochet just about anything following a video tutorial. I've tried knitting several times but it never turns out right😏.

Thanks, I really like the braided headband! Could this be done with less bulky yarn, or would it not give a good look?
@Juliemeasures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cynthia! Yes, you could make the headband with less bulky yarn. Just make sure to make adjustments to the length. You may also choose to hold multiple strands of lighter weight yarn together to get the bulky look.

Thank You Julie for such a beautiful pattern. If someone chooses to try such an advanced detail as these Owls - one should be thoroughly familiar with crocheting a hat. Just as someone who can play chopsticks and scales on a piano shouldn't expect to play a sonata just because they purchased the sheet music. How about going to a crochet group or a yarn shop and take a lesson? Again - Thank You Julie for sharing something that took a long trial and error process to create.
