So i shoot straight video sony a7iii fe24-240. Just starting out. Do you roll the entire time or cut in and out during those long boring sits? And running a rode mic pro r -16d getting alot of white noise but when I turn the pickup sound down I dont pickup nature sounds. What's your goto on mic settings with shotgun mic?

We usually cut in and out between shots. For our audio we run it at 0db.
