It's a shame that Sennheiser didn't get onto the fact that this mechanism was by far the most robust Dj headphone on the market and bring out a premium version of these with a mini xlr replaceable cable mineral leather ear pads etc etc etc they could have stolen the Market from under the feet of pioneer because mine still look like new now and the pioneers that cost 3 times as much broke long ago an opportunity missed and a huge marketing boost missed out on and huge opportunity sad but at least I've still got the memory of what should have been the Best and last headphone ever released for Dj,s !!

Please, do use the foam pop filters for singing as well. I refuse to work without one... it takes out 'plosives, AND.. insulates you electrically from the mic. 120v through the lips doesn't have to happen many times to convince you.

And if you want to have some stats fun, try writing a program that can give you random Lotto numbers, for as many lines as you want, just to see if the Universe is playing ball. I spent about 3 hours writing that one. I was rusty, and it was an Atari 800 XL, and I couldn't test it properly, cos I couldn't save it. Least I did it, though. And just for fun, too. Am I a nerd? Maybe ;)

@@jingo500 This is a version for the BBC micro. It had a better BASIC than the Sinclair, and I've used some of the extra features. L. 10 REM LOTTO IN BBC BASIC 20 CLS:PRINT "LOTTO PICKER":PRINT 30 DIM N%(59) 40 FOR ROW=1 TO 21 60 PROC_PICKNUMS 70 PROC_PRINTNUMS 80 NEXT ROW 90 END 100 : 140 DEF PROC_PICKNUMS 142 LOCAL R%,A% 145 FOR A%=1 TO 59:N%(A%)=0:NEXT 150 FOR A%=1 TO 6 160 REPEAT:R%=RND(59):UNTIL N%(R%)=0 165 N%(R%)=1 170 NEXT 180 ENDPROC 190 : 200 DEF PROC_PRINTNUMS 205 LOCAL A% 210 FOR A%=1 TO 59 220 IF N%(A%)=1 THEN PRINT STR$ A%;" "; 230 NEXT 240 PRINT 250 ENDPROC BBC BASIC typically runs about 5 times as fast as Sinclair BASIC. Not wanting my Speccy to be trounced, I pulled out the trusty Colt... a compiler. After compilation (RANDOMIZE USR 60000) it creates a machine code routine at 40000, which runs about 5 times faster than the (uncompiled) BBC BASIC. Colt was one of the better compilers available back in the day. However it could only handle a subset of the Sinclair BASIC. I had to alter the code to get it to compile. The RND function works differently, and that is reflected in lines 70-80. Colt does not support user-defined functions either. 10 REM Lotto:Sinclair BASIC 20 PRINT "LOTTO PICKER" 30 DIM N(59) 40 FOR E=1 TO 7 50 FOR F=1 TO 59: LET N(F)=0: NEXT F 60 FOR G=1 TO 6 70 LET R=RND: LET R=R/560+1 80 IF R<1 OR R>59 THEN GO TO 70 90 IF N(R)=1 THEN GO TO 70 100 LET N(R)=1 110 NEXT G 120 FOR F=1 TO 59 130 IF N(F)=1 THEN PRINT F;" "; 140 NEXT F 150 PRINT 160 NEXT E 170 STOP

Used the BBC Micro waaaay back in the late 80's, dude. Even programmed on them. Loved the AUTO feature that came in its BASIC. Hated numbering lines, but after a few line number insertions you could always RENUM and they'd be sorted back into 10 line block spacers. Can't remember if it updated the program to change to goto and gosub references, but I digress. If I remember it right, the BBC had a keyboard flaw, in that only 3 keys could be pressed simultaneosly, without causing issues? I dispute that. School holidays, me and my buddy wrote a 2 player shooter, with 4 way movement, and a fire button that was called Dogfight. I pretty much wrote it, and my buddy helped me debug it( I loved it when it told you WHERE it failed hehe!(syntax error at line XXX) and you spent half an hour figuring out you had a colon instead of a semi-colon. Ahh, youth) Oh, and that game was 2-player on the same keyboard. It was quite a nice little game. Came with a title screen, and a nuke sprite when you had a kill, and a rnd sound generator, and envelope mixer for explosions. We had some fun playing around with it. Then the holidays ended, and we went back to boarding school, and the next time I came back, there was an Atari 520, and no BBC computer. I was sad about this, but not for long, 'cos the Atari had cool graphics, and simple joystic and mouse support. And bugger all BASIC support. Sooo disappointed. "Gotta learn Machine language! BASIC is so slow!" Bullshit. BASIC taught me computers follow a path and direction, and with the right knowledge, and a little daring, you can achieve beyond the hardware capabilities. Machine Code was Swahili to me (Sorry to Swahilians ;)

REN. does work on line references in GOTO, GOSUB, and RESTORE (for DATA lines, and the READ instruction). In BBC BASIC you can renumber from different starting points and with different increments too. REN. 100,5 will renumber, starting lines at 100 in steps of 5. I missed this facility on my 48K ZX Spectrum, but there was a good toolkit called ZXED, that allowed for even more flexible renumbering, code relocation, and search/replace of variables. However, it had to be merged off tape (taking up lines 9900 onwards in your BASIC program). BASIC on the BBC micro was fast compared to that available on most other 8-bit micros. Some things needed more speed though, but with BBC BASIC you could embed 6502 assembly language routines, and pass values to / from BASIC variables found in the same listing. I think the Amstrad CPC could do something like that with its Locomotive BASIC and Z80 assembler. On the Spectrum I had to use a compiler to get more speed, or assemble with something like Zeus, and call the machine code with USR. To pass values to/from BASIC I had to use PEEK and POKE. Z80 assembly was the way to go on the Spectrum. It had a very decent CPU and a good amount of RAM for the cost of the machine.
