thanks for sharing chelsea! i always love to hear your intentions behind your choices😊 your decisions definitely make sense with your little one coming soon! and yay five year! it’ll be great to have that documentation soon after they’re born! i’m starting a new one next year as well and am trying to find pen/ink combos that work. so far, several sailor inks like those from the shikiori line and sailor seiboku have worked well with the pilot iro-itsushi dip pen in fine. i will let you know if i find others😊

Thanks so much for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the chatty video! I joke that our little one knows how much of a planner I am because the arrival coincides so nicely with the start of the year 😂 I appreciate the ink and dip pen suggestion - I'll keep looking on my end as well, although I'm really hoping I can get a TWSBI fine nib to work with the Pelikan Edelstein ink.

Always love seeing techo kaigi! That 5 year techo looks so nice! On another note, I watched your chocolate advent calendar videos last year and I was able to get in on this year's calendar restock! I just had day 1 and it's amazing so far! These next few weeks will go by quick and baby will be here before you know it! Congrats and hope everything is going well!

I got the 5 year notebook after seeing your haul because I fell in love with the whole gift set! I am determined to keep writing in it consistently and I hope I don't fall behind.
@thosewithwords3 күн бұрын
The gift set is lovely, isn't it? I hope you enjoy using yours regularly! I'm sure I'll end up falling behind at some point, but it's comforting to think that in the grand scheme of five years, a month or two of blank pages won't make a huge difference. When life gets busy, I can always pick it up later too!

I’ve personally had trouble with Cafe note, A6 size though- didn’t like my Zebra Sarasa Dry I’ve moved away from smaller grids due to hand issues so nbd 🤷♂️

I'm sorry to hear you've had issues with the A6 size. I've used the B6 slim size before for long-form journaling, so I'm hoping the quality stays consistent through the rest of the books. Hope you're enjoying your other notebooks!

I'm going to fold in any family journaling into the 5-year for the time being! I thought about having a separate journal for the baby, but in the end decided it might be too much pressure to keep up with 😅

Chelsea, thank you for sharing your techo kaigi. I really appreciated your response and approach to the inconsistencies with TRP S 2025 paper, I thought you were very measured and love your intention to make use of journal for the next 5 years. As for my TNs, they will be my memory keepers one for stationery related pop ups and event and another for CA pen show.
@thosewithwords6 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! I've had time to process my own experience with the new TRP, which is why I think I sound more measured here (vs. my initial reaction when I swatched the Rose Quartz ink onto that sample paper 😅). I love using TNs for special occasions - your ideas are great and I hope you enjoy journaling in the refills next year!

Ah congratulations for your new chapter :) It's nice to see an update of your low spend, thanks for being honest and taking us through your thought process. I'm also doing a low spend this year and I've set up a strict budget for each month, so if I ran out of funds this month then I'll save it for the next month, or if I overspend this month then I won't buy anything next month. So far it's been good and having a notion budget planner helps a lot :)

Thank you! ❤️ And appreciate you sharing helpful tips. I think I'm going to do a mix between only buying things I absolutely love and some monthly budgeting with a bit of wiggle room. If only we had the ability to predict future stationery releases 😂

I happened to be awake when the TSL sample sale went live and I was pleasantly surprised at the number of selections available! A lot of them were gone already by the time I woke up the next morning, so I'm glad I caught it when I did. It's something to look out for in the future, for sure. Hope you enjoy your purchases from the sale!

I saw the IG post and set an alarm lol I was a bit sleepy going through the 8 pages of items, not sure if I missed some or if they added more items later on, a friend got a clear tote for such an amazing price, I’m sure I wouldn’t have missed it so I’m thinking the TSL team kept adding more the following day. I got something I never thought I would own so I’m looking forward to it. Thank you and my well wishes to you and your family, what an exciting winter for you!! ☺️

Congrats on your baby - how exciting! I have 3 kids and yeah, purse or bag options depends on your lifestyle. Obviously when you go out without baby, it’s like normal, otherwise every bag seems too small and not enough space to carry all the things. Or you mostly only need your baby things and don’t want to keep track of so many bags…. It’s a challenge for sure but you’ll eventually figure out what work for you and your family. I think strict no spends are hard because in the end, suddenly spending a lot as a reaction after a no spend period can still result in spending too much. Some kind of budgeting probably makes more sense… thanks for sharing your thoughts! I think there’s only ever going to be more to buy and prices are increasing, so this topic is always on top of mind!
@thosewithwords13 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! ❤️ I think I made the right call on waiting to buy a nice, handmade bag - as much as I've been looking forward to it for over a year, I just don't know what my life is going to look like (I have some vague ideas, but it's one of those things where I don't think I'll really understand until I get there myself). Appreciate you sharing your perspective! I've thought about budgeting stricter amounts as well, but I might give myself too much leeway with that one (e.g. if I don't spend for 3 months, do I get to "use" the total of the 3 monthly budget together on an order?). It's certainly worth thinking about, though, and I might try it for 2025! Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.

I think it’s so brave of you to work on your journal in a café. I think I’d feel too self-conscious because I’d be worried that everyone was staring at me.

What was the slightly smaller book with green and yellow trim we saw in the beginning of your video? Also do you mind if I ask where you got the elastic band with a Traveler Notebook button ? I’ve never seen that before. Thank you!
@thosewithwordsАй бұрын
Hi there, that's an olive passport traveler's notebook that I customized with Angelus leather paint. As for the little Traveler's button, I believe it's either from a past Traveler's Company USA order, or a gacha item I got at one of the Traveler's Factory stores in Japan. I'm sorry I can't remember exactly! 😅

If you pack the Plotter so full you can’t close it probably, you have defeated the whole purpose of buying a Plotter. I have the leather ring protectors. And paper. No pen loop. No elastic thing. No dividers. I don’t use it as a dated planner. Just my To Dos. I use one 3x5 card for each day with any errands and Dr. appointments for just that day. I use the Plotter for a master to do list broken up into categories. House maintenance. Exercise. Food diary.
