Jake tunes his Charvel Strat like this. His low E and A strings are tuned up one half tone each to low F and A# (Bb) respectively and the remaining strings (D, G, B & high E) are all tuned down one half tone to C#, F#, Bb and high D# respectively, incase anyone sees footage of Jake (or anyone else) utilizing that tuning or sees tablature written to reflect that tuning, that will be why you are seeing different fingerings. Whichever works best for you personally, that's the "correct way to play it", If you play gigs in a band and you don't have a 3rd or 4th guitar to have tuned to F, A#, C#, F#, Bb & D# exclusively for just one song then the Eb tuning is probably going to be more user friendly. Always remember when looking for the correct way to play most songs, the "correct way" is always relative to what works best for you.

Hi there, thanks for your message and thanks for watching. Really interesting info, thanks for this - I will give it a go using this tuning. Jake is such a brilliant and inspiring player, one of my favourites. Thanks again, Lee UK

Hey! Do you have any advice for the 12 and 10 parts? I really struggle strumming the strings as they sound muted or just wrong. Aswell as the finger placements is hard
@leechamberlaingoesto11guit784 ай бұрын
Hi ya, it’s a mini bar across two strings - or double stops. To practice double stops try playing a riff on the D & G using first and third fingers, try smoke on the water and move it around the neck. Try jumping between this idea and power chords. Let me know if you would like a request. Thanks for watching, Lee

I've been looking for tabs or a tutorial for the lead guitar though I've only been able to find the rhythm guitar. Idk what's up with that I haven't been able to find the solo part either/ the guitar that plays over the rhythm guitar

Been watching Jake play it with Red Dragon Cartel and he plays the open D power chord the second time through.
@carlhungus25216 ай бұрын
please give a few more seconds when showing the tuning, u misspoke about the g to a and talked over it....just frustrating cuz it would just take 1-2 seconds to let us hear the string ring out
@leechamberlaingoesto11guit786 ай бұрын
So sorry. So tune your 6th string down to a D, string 5 will stay as an A, string 4 will stay as a D, string 3 will go up to an A, string 2 will go up to D but be careful as this might snap - do it slowly! String 1 will go down to a D. You have a great tuning, a 12 string sound!!! Let me know how it goes, Lee

The Killswitch and Shadows Fall guys are doing something with the pinches that I don't really see a lot of other bands doing, or at least not on the same level. I know they are all big proponents of the OD808 pedal. I'd like to know one day what it is they are doing.

Those harmonics are beautiful how do you master them? Or get better with them I’m trying to learn them myself as a 4 month player but I don’t know how to persistently pull them off
@leechamberlaingoesto11guit78 Жыл бұрын
Hi ya, thanks for watching. It takes a little practice, check out my earlier video on Zakk Wylde pinch harmonic’s. You need to angle the pic and catch string with skin of thumb too, angled and attack the string at slight angle. Cheers
