Mmm, nah, your faith is pure superstition, utterly. If Constantine hadn't converted to Christianity it would at best be a minor sect in Judaism today, if it even still existed. Once again, political power used religious myth and superstition as a way to control and manipulate.
@praestant15 жыл бұрын
Declaring the "bible" to be infallible and inerrant is to elevate it to the status of "god" and that's idolatry; specifically, it's bibliolatry. Case closed, just like your mind.

And funny how the Republicans of today aren't anything like Lincoln. Republicans today are the most offensive people in the nation, supporters of injustice, working to make sure corporations can rob people blind, and then blind them with products that the Republicans won't allow to be properly tested and regulated. Republicans = evil.

New flash: AFA types are dying off at a rapid pace, Don Wildmon has been dead from the neck up for decades. You're on the way out, give up already.
@praestant15 жыл бұрын
The AFA is nothing but a front to fleece the flock of funds, nothing more. Find something that gets the little old ladies in a dither and they'll send off a check so Donny "Neckwattles" Wildmon will fight the bogeyman, meanwhile Donny, et al., jet around the world in lavish luxury. Yeah, the AFA does what it can to help itself to the cookie jar.

And what's wrong with a little intolerance, eh? Or shall I go to your house and put my feet on your coffee table? Failpoints for using such charged words as "superstition" when "faith" would have worked better.

This nation's people have been predominantly Christian for its entire history, ergo it is historically a Christian nation. We have no problem with other faiths, beyond them leading to certain death and damnation. The problem here are the people who *are* trying to eradicate Christianity; they seem to have seized the reins of society, and we would kindly ask them to stop.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
YES, but it's distributed, and NO, they don't need laws for that, just culture, and most of the Founders were Christian. There's a book you might enjoy, "The 5,000 Year Leap," that goes into all this.

Ads are a social force as well as a means to get people to buy things. In this case, the social force was directed to help redirect society from its relatively new anti-Christian course.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
News flash, pal: right up until a few decades ago, the sorts of people that you find in the AFA today were the average citizen in terms of their placement on the political spectrum. It's you left-wing nuts that have dragged the midpoint, kicking and screaming, towards yourselves.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
And we want them to refrain from saying that one faith/tradition is as good as any other. It would be nice if they acted out of the goodness of their corporate little hearts, but this will do for now. A war is won in battles, not all at once.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
No, not really. See, ads are a communications medium. Getting one to carry your message -and not your enemy's- is a help, in this case a blow against the insane PC factions of our society. The AFA exists to help organize people to help change society. In this case, to try to stem the subtle de- and anti-Christianization of things. When faith is the only salvation from eternal damnation, this stuff becomes very important. No point in making the world a better place to go to Hell from, is there?
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
That's awfully unkind.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
Wherever there is opportunity, there you will find a guy selling stuff. Salvation -the point of Christmas- is Jesus' gift to mankind. It gets commemorated with celebrations and gift-giving. Then some people decide that they like the gifting and partying but not the Jesus and the salvation, so they shift emphasis to what they like. Next thing you know, the populace thinks that the gifts are the point, and the entrepreneurs latch on and WHAM! Instant consumerism extravaganza! You're welcome :D
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
Erm, the mannequins appear to be part of a GAP marketing campaign. Not including them would deprive the ad of the momentum generated by the campaign and it would not be as effective. How have they outsmarted Christians? Goal was to remove non-Christmas celebrations from the ad, and that's what happened. We don't know Jesus' actual birthday, and this way people keep their celebrations! Win win. Why would Jesus hate His birthday, and its representing the salvation of the human race?

These are corporate execs. They're in the business for money. This is why boycotts work. Integrity is best left to churches, charities, and other nonprofits.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
Oh, we focus on all that stuff. Broad attention, doncha know. Anyway, the mandate was to make disciples of all nations so that as many as possible may be saved, and we're doing that. Fixing all the world's problems would matter little if everybody were to burn later on, after all. The AFA does what it can to help.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
Can't read RS1's notes, but often what gets called "cherry-picking" isn't. Idolatry is the worship of something other than God. Christians don't typically worship the Bible.
@SonofPencilHead15 жыл бұрын
Jesus isn't a myth just because you want him to be, you know. The "Santa Claus" of modern culture is an amalgamation of many things, including real people like the so-called Saint Nicholas and the genius of a long-dead Coca-Cola marketing guy.

Yeah, that's right, quoting from the 'book' itself is proof of its infallibility. Myths, stories, made-up junk, all to keep the rabble under the control of the clergy and the politicians.
@praestant15 жыл бұрын
"The devil is a liar" so why do you cede "him" any power at all? It's all made up myths, all meant to control people. Just remember to have a jolly happy holly-day, warm and fuzzy and non-threatening, all feel-good, li'l baby and whatnot and all. "Santa" is myth, so is "Jesus".

Um... what does the Bill of Rights have to do with this? Please explain how I am "bypassing" them because I don't get it. Lol, "throwing quotes around"? That was a SUPREME COURT Decision; it was much more than just a quote. I only provided the quote so that you'd understand what the decision was. In my opinion, a Supreme Court Decision means more than a quote from a treaty. Get "MY" facts straight? Are you saying what I said is not a fact? If you are; prove that it's false.

Still laughing that the "merry christmas" types are depicted as fake, non-humans. Plastic mannequins. Ha! Oh, and be sure to have a non-specific, generic, warm-n-fuzzy jolly holly-day, including any myths and/or superstitions about virgins giving birth if you so choose, but such is not mandatory, of course.

An infallible inerrant bible is an idol. If it's infallible and inerrant then it's complete, and it says "God" has nothing further to say.

I'm very familiar with "Family Radio". Not interested, but fascinated that you'd quote from an organization whose leader deviates significantly from the infallible inerrant scripture point of view.
