Brilliant, I can watch all three in this series time and time again. What strikes me is we seem unable to make such films nowadays and back then, pre financial crisis, covid, global warming etc who thought the world would be in such a mess as today.

☑☑☑☑☑☑☑✔✔✔ I gives it a 7/10. It reminds me very much of why I HATE trips away with other blokes whom I don't know well - as opposed to my good mate Rob who thinks the more the merrier. It was interesting to see Brian Murphy play a different role to that of George Roper, though the two characters do share a number of annoying quirks. I also enjoyed Martin Clune's portrayal of Clive who was rather stoic considering the ills that befell him on the one day... I look forward to watching the two sequels which are available on this channel. 5 Oct 2024

I love all the characters in this. Ben Wishaw did a cracking John Keats in Bright Star. He looks really gorgeous in that but in this.. hmm no. Ha. Fabulous actor though. Im surprised Anne reid didnt have the affair, she normally does 😂😂😂

Well executed performance by all😅😅. Love George Roper, dam he never changes, Wonder what his beauty secrets ARE 😅😂😂. That bit with the Beep on his forehead had me in stitches 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣. Shame the UPLOADER has only the 3rd one loaded😱. I didn't realise until i was halfway through it. NEVER mind went BACK. Have to say, for me personally 🥶 that music is a bit too MUCH 😱😲. Otherwise brilliant 💓🙏🌺

I loved this at the time. I was about 17 when it was first on Ch4 and genuinely thought they had a really fun life - working in a mundane office job but making the best of it, whilst having fun in the evenings. (But I also thought the same about Teachers and Linda Green). Watching it now as an almost-40 year old I'm not sure what I was thinking.

I found the first episode somewhere between depressing and annoying. Left the series alone for a few weeks. Then I remembered how the original Reggie Perrin series bored the pants off me for the first 3 or 4 episodes before realising how deliberate a strategy all that was. So today I decided to watch episode 2 which I thought was quite good, 3 and 4 probably the peak - simply brilliant and 5 and 6 built up to a good ending with the Vicki side story building up and really should have carried on either for another episode at least or even a second series. Looking at the overall cast though, putting something like this together was a huge achievement and no doubt difficult to sustain with who may or may not have been available - Olivia Coleman probably the highlight. Yes Ed's family were largely annoying, for example take him for an Indian on his birthday even though he didn't like Indian and fancied Thai...finding partners for him as they can't cope with him being single...people who know what work you want to do even when you don't - TELL ME ABOUT IT! So annoying and so realistic but still managing to be funny. Oh and an extra star for managing all that without canned laughter - bingo it's a winner, I'll recommend. Thanks Norah.
