Kendrick won a Pullitzer and has been one of the most acclaimed and commercially successful artists of this decade in hip hop. Lil Wayne can't even steal the show at Essence Fest in 2024 while Kendrick put on a legendary 1 hour plus show live performance at The Pop Out this year. Plus Lil Wayne is not a huge artist internationally, while Kendrick Lamar is.

Are you sure? Hendrix was from Seattle, WA (not Michigan) and was born in 1942. And Billie was before Hendrix. She's my favorite jazz singer but did not have an angelic voice.

Lil Wayne isn't even big enough of a name that he could do the same tours as Kendrick both in the US and internationally. He is a rapper that is only famous in America and hasn't been relevant touring or charts-wise for over a decade which is why the NFL chose to go with an artist like Kendrick Lamar that people around the world know songs from and who had an incredibly year, including having one of the biggest Summer hits in 2024.
