Put 110 V AC through an isolation xformer and got 109V. Put it across an electrolytic cap and got 169 enough for these 12AX7 plates. 220 would give me 340 Don't try this.

To prevent "financial loss" they've basically indemified themselves with by stating that any sound issues are basically "by design" and will not be considered defects. Period. "By using the Soma PULSAR•23 patch book, you agree to following conditions: All patches were created independently by PULSAR•23 owners and SOMA cannot guarantee that you will get the exact same sound(s) as described or as heard in the audio samples. Please keep in mind that PULSAR•23 is a fully analog device with a very complex, organismic design, so even perfectly recreated patches can sound differently than the demo provided by the creator of the patch. If you are not able to recreate a certain patch exactly it does not mean your PULSAR•23 is defective! This patch book is a guide, not a guarantee to achieve certain sounds. Soma will therefore not accept any complaints regarding a different sound of recreated patches, or offer further explanations on how to achieve a patch if a user is not able to. Such cases cannot be used for opening a warranty repair or unit replacement claim with SOMA customer support and/or the place of purchase."

Vlad, I love this instrument. I want to purchase one when released, but part of me hopes that maybe not. Because there is only so much money, and Terra was a must have - so that's 1. Flux could be #2, but I'm hoping you will confirm whether Reflex is still in the plans to be developed. I can't buy three $1,000+ Soma instruments in a row. I wish I could! So if Reflex is still coming later on, I may wait for it - Reflex is such a radical concept! It has my heart. I sense some initial aspects of Reflex made it into Terra, I can feel the link. They would compliment each other as a pair for sure!
@somasynths10 күн бұрын
As Reflex is gonna be quite pricey we postponed it on an infinite time. The market is not ready for expensive instruments ATM, you know.

Oh, the Messeiver brings back so many memories. The Russian woodpecker, the sounds of national radio identification music, so much magic behind a lighted dial. A "look" into the perspectives of so many different countries. Dialing in a radio signal is more like invoking voices of the ether. What you hear is dependent on forces of nature, completely beyond your control. Make an offering of electricity to the spirits of the airwaves, and be thankful for what you receive.

What is the left hand controlling?
@bojangprodoktschns542810 күн бұрын
Seems to be mostly timbre: Waveforms, distortion, noise etc. But I guess ultimately it will depend on the patch. I wonder if a more theremin like aporoach will also be possible, with one hand controlling pitch, the other amplitude. Although the way it's demonstrated here looks very intuitive.

Any chance that the gesture and position parameters could be sent by USB and accessed through an open SDK? The possibilities for using that as a controller for software synths is very high. It appears that many of the parameters are continuous rather than being coarse discrete values; that could make Flux a beautiful way to perform with software synthesizers.
@XanderEwald12 күн бұрын
Imagine Messeiver could not only receive radio waves but also communicate and interact with the other Messeivers in the area, creating a global network that becomes its own organismic super-instrument.

@@DALTRON666 Sorry that probably came across wrong. I just mean, for most of us, we put stuff up on soundcloud or band camp and maybe a few friends and a few bots trying to sell us subscribers listen to it. I think it would be a nice problem to have if we needed to clear samples and stuff. As for your question, the band negativland has gotten by with a lot of their found sound music (not all of it!) by claiming for use. They even wrote a book about it.
