My daughter's lymphedema came on after her period began. It's in her knees and below. she has the compression stockings. Her legs are elevated at night. She exercizes. We now eat low carb diet/ ketovore diet, organic as we heard blood sugar fluctuations could be a cause in some. She has had this for a year. We tried a fast. We tried the one meal a day fast. IT WORKED!!!!! It still comes back on days she eats more than once. She is 14, with a normal bmi. Autophagy is stimulated when one does not eat for an extended period of time. For breakfast she eats a half a pound of ground beef with cumin, chili powder, salt, and about a tbls of homemade tomato paste, and an egg. she spoons that onto raw sweet cabbage like a taco. She then eats about 2 or 3 cups of unsweetened greek yogurt that she sweetens with stevia. If she is still hungry, she eats some pork rhinds. This is all her breakfast. Then she only drinks water for the rest of the day until the following morning. she doesnt even complain about being hungry. I could not believe the improvement. We only allow her to do it 4 times per week right now. If her bmi drops too much, we will try eating breakfast and an early lunch. maybe that will work too. we are trying to also isolate foods to see if they are a trigger. She loves pistachios. They are off the menu for a time and then we will reintroduce and see what happens. God bless you all!!!!!
