Great review! I found Aegon quite amusing, which was somewhat refreshing taking into consideration the very dark tone, overall.

Aegon is horrible. Sick sense of humor. He's right up there with Joffrey as far as annoying and degrading. He proved that just with that convo with Tyland.

It seems like everyone's playing both sides of the coin. Laerys is already in Alicn mind about replacing Otto. Since she's so close to Cerston , I have a feeling she's gonna make a case for him to be the next Hand of the King

Avoid, the 1959 Ten Commandments is better but dated.Sad to see whites playing Egyptians in this day and age, there are plenty of talented Egyptians who could have been cast surely? The costumes are inaccurate and look cheap. The best sources for the Exodus story are Josephus,Artapanus and Ginzbergs legends of the Jews and of course the Old Testament.

Lady "Raven" is M. Night's daughter who is a real musician. In the film the name "Raven" could be an ode to Edgar Allan Poe and The Raven which is about madness. Josh's character could be reliving the time his daughter was killed by a serial killer when he left his daughter at a concert and she disappeared and he got revenge. If you look at the last scene, he has a similar look as Anthony Perkins in Psycho which had this quote from the movie: We're all in our private "traps" and none of us can get out We scratch and claw and never budge an inch. One fun casting choice was "Haley" Mills as a detective who was in the original The Parent Trap movie playing both twins. If you slow down the trailer you see a marquee for The Watchers which is Ishana Night's upcoming film. Perhaps Lady Raven's Tour Dates mean something too? The Butcher's kill dates? It is also "From The World of M. Night" so it might be connected to another film like The Sixth Sense and may have an appearance by another "Haley" actor as in Haley Joel Osment. All possible clues.

It wasn’t a bad movie was it I’m don’t you think it had some intelligence along with really good solid acting, directing, writing and dialogue and the plot was conprehensible right so critics should be praising it especially for being visually stunning and having tremendous action set pieces.

Thats a fair reaction. Alot of people hoped that baby joker which is Pheonix become the fully formed chaos mastermind that Ledger was in a sequel but the went more with the joker and harley story which to be hasn't been properly explored and the chaos mastermind has been explored alot. Also again alot of people were turned off by musical direction though your the first lukewarm reaction ive seen alot of people have been won over but your reaction is the expected and completely fair reaction. Now mind you you said something about tone which i thought originally as well but theres is precendence of music numbers in the batman animated series where music harley/joker have this whimsical fairy tale tone so theres source material where this is being drawn from. Though that doesn't necessarily mean its a popular choice. Great reaction.

Either way as i liked them all i was to young to apricate the 1976 king kong at that time but another film that took its time to get going and that was one of the biggest film ever made back then staring the young jeff bridges

If you’ve not seen any of the films - you’re in for a treat. Definitely watch the first entry from 1979, ALIEN, then it’s 1986 follow-up, ALIENS. Two of the finest films ever made. Enjoy! Very glad to see you saying that you enjoy practical effects, the director of this new movie has said that they are leaning towards practical instead of overused CGI.

Carissa honestly I can't believe ITS FINALLY HERE! after 15 years of being stuck in development hell, people are shitting on this movie for a few reasons A understandably because of what happened to Brandon Lee and his accidental death on set. But mostly because people don't think a Remake is a necessary I respectfully disagree not a lot of people know that the movie is based on a graphic novel, plus there are people out there who've never even heard of The Crow remaking it now for a new generation will get people's attention and gain their curiosity about the character in general. It will get them to check out the 94 film, it will get them to check out the graphic novel, and hopefully the much underrated sequel in my book The Crow Salvation which was easily the best of sequels, Director Rupert Sanders when talking about the new movie acknowledged the death of Brandon Lee by saying "what happened to Brandon Lee was a tragedy and we very much feel his presence was with us when we were filming this we aren't trying to diminish or tarnish Lee's memory or his legacy in any way, we hope he's proud of what we've done. We very much feel Bill is a successor that". The movie has a very solid screen writer Zach Baylin who wrote movies like Creed III, Grand Turismo, and King Richard, I really think Rupert Sanders knows what he's doing and I think it shows by what he had to say about the film in a recent interview “‘The Crow’ is the original anti-superhero,” Sanders said in a newly released statement. “His story is about tragic loss, about dealing with the pain of everything that comes with losing someone you love, something that all of us have or will encounter at some point in our lives. It is about the dark shadow of grief, about what we would do when something so meaningful is taken from us.” He also added “The original graphic novel is deeply meaningful for so many, and the character, his journey and his need for revenge has inspired a canon of films for the last three decades. Our version goes back to that graphic novel by James O’Barr, who I had the honor of meeting shortly before production, and explores the love story as the primary drive for our film.” Brandon Lee's memory and his legacy will always be there the original movie will always be a classic and it will always be a beloved movie, the point of remaking it is to honor Brandon Lee's memory and his legacy, by retelling this beloved story for a new generation. As long as this movie honors the roots and spirit of the original story then Lee's memory is still being honored, its like when Heath Ledger died when Joaquin Phoenix was cast as The Joker for the Joker movie the point wasn't to replace or disrespect Ledger's memory it was to do something with the character that had never been done before. To show him in a different light same thing with The Crow and the sooner more people realize this then the more the legacy of The Crow as a character can live on

Thank you for pointing out how fairy tales actually were. I mean, in the oldest version of Sleeping Beauty she was literally r*ped in her sleep and gave birth asleep with her baby being the one to wake her, mistaking her finger for a nipple after it had crawled out of her body and sucked the splinter out.
